I’ve got a Dell Axim x50v running WM5. Not familiar with this product but am looking forward to trying it and seeing how it works. Anyone got any experience with this? Only familiar with the Missing Link s/w which doesn’t seem to have had a good rap recently…

Anyone got this to work? Info on their website is little more than “plug it in and click connect” . I have had Missing Sync installed which is probably the problem but there’s not much info to go on!

Please, be informed that Dell Axim x50v is compatible with SyncMate. Please make sure yourself.

Got it to connect at last – needed to enable the option “Enable advanced network functionality” in Settings / Connections / USB to PC on the phone. Couldn’t find that written anywhere, just guessed.
Then after huge amounts of head scratching as to my it was insisting on wanting to sync 40 odd contacts I couldn’t see, I realised it was talking to the SIM card as well as the contacts on the phone memory!
Oh well, evaluating now. It HAS to be better than missing sync, surely? At least this only has one app and doesn’t add apps all over the place :)

Through the years I have used both PocketMac and Missing Sync. But each time I have been disappointed to find it didn’t work for me. In my office I sync with Groupwise (Novell/Windows) and at home with Entourage. I want to use my Windows Mobile device (with AgendaFusion) as the mastersource. With PocketMac and Missing Sync I always had problems with incompatibility with Entourage, resulting in double entries for the same meeting or contact in my WM-device. Also problems with syncing and changing repeating appointments.
I have sort of given up on syncing WM on Mac and I’m reluctant to try yet another application. But I would like to be able to sync and install apps to my WM device. So I have not used SyncMate but am interested in a good review.

Well I’m unable to get my Dell to sync. Not impressed with the lack of documentation and support on their website either. And their feedback here has been less than useful, so I’m going to miss on this one.

To Willyam:
Thank you for your feedback. We are currently working on support of Entourage and it should be implemented in one of upcoming updates. I would like to suggest you a very convenient way to stay informed about updates of Eltima Software products:
http://www.eltima.com/software-updates/
Simply select the products or categories you are interested in, and input your e-mail address. As a result you will be sent an email when new versions, builds and products are released.
To ozron:
Very surprised that you didn’t find support information at our site. Our contact pages contain phone numbers, IM contacts, e-mails, etc. you can find links to Eltima blog and forums at our website and we keep our eye on your comments here. We don’t think it can be called “lack of support”, but just in case we are posting link to our contacts here:

If you experience any problems with our software, please describe it in detail to our support manager and we’ll investigate it.

I agree with Willyam. I got this working in the end yesterday (to Eltima: how much more specific would you like me to be? I already said exactly what my problem was and exactly what I did to resolve it!).
I spent about half a day cleaning up my SIM card and the contacts in my phone memory to get it so that it would sync with the Mac without wanting to add things I didn’t want it to add in whichever direction it was. I got there in the end and that was probably nothing to do with SyncMate, probably just the current state of my contact lists on both my phone and Mac.
So then I tested making a few changes on my phone by deleteing some duplicate details for some contacts. When I asked to sync just from phone to Mac it offered to delete all 117 of my contacts from my mac. Glad I had the option to always confirm checked on that one!! (Although, yes, it was more than 5% so it would have sought confirmation anyway)
So I tried it as a general sync (both ways) and this time it worked but all it did was put the details I’d removed from the phone back in again. Great.
After half a day of messing with this I got on with what I was really meant to be spending the day doing yesterday. Work.
My conclusion: Maybe it works properly and I’m not giving it enough effort to try and understand all the intricacies of how. An excellent choice for MacZOT however. It has served to prove that there is no decent Mac syncing tool yet for Windows Mobile, and in getting this to work I wandered if Missing Sync was interfering so got rid of that junk as well even though I am fully paid up on that one. Hopefully it will come along, it has a nice UI afterall. It may be that the problems are down to Apple sync services not SyncMate? Who knows. Sadly I really don’t have time to experiment and even if I did, I don’t consider my phone’s contacts to be data I want to experiment on.
Good luck with developing and enhancing a product with potential.

To Martin:
Thank you for detailed information you provided. We deeply apologize for all the inconveniences you have experienced. The problem you have encountered when using SyncMate is a bug in SyncService. Our developers are currenly fixing it. We will hopefully fix the issue in the forthcoming build of SyncMate. As I understand your technical problem seems to be resolved. If it is not, please let me know. We are eager to improve our SW daily but as you perhaps understand we need assistance and support from our users.

hello,
Has anyone tried to synchronize Mac(book), MaxOS X 10.4.11 and his ICal with HTC TyTN II ?
It seems it is not possible, because when I do that, the data from the phone are mixed up (wrong dates) and some are missing at all. Have you any idea where could be teh problem? Sync contacts is possible and seems works fine!
Thank you, Richard
