I used to order from MacZot a lot, but it has been quite some time since they have offered anything I want at price I am willing to pay. None of these programs interest me at all.

Dear ZOT,
is this the “Utility Package” of Koingosw or only a extra cooked Stir-fry for MacZot?
If it is the “Utility Package” than the regular price would not be 220$ but 79.95$.
If it is an extra cooked one, than it would probably lacking the “you get a license too for every future product of Koingo Software that doesn’t even exists yet”?
Could you please elaborate? Because if it is the “Utility Package” I would like to purchase it!
Thanks in advance,
chin.

I have no idea what kqs means, but I love me some Koingo software!
IF this is the Utility Package License (I bought that some time ago through ZOT!), then buy it. Don’t wait, just buy it. That license gives you a full, eternally upgradable license to every app made by Koingo, past, present, and future.
I bought it before Swiftshare or Librarian Pro were even announced, and I now have a full license for both, plus everything else.
@ MZ: what license(s) is this? I’m assuming that “a delicious free lifetime upgrades plan! ” covers t, but for clarity’s sake?
@ mrboma: rather than vague complaining, why not say why won’t buy this, or what you would buy?
If you’re looking for one-trick ponies that look pretty and cost more, this ain’t it. If you really like apps that get it done, and can do without a shiny single or no button interface, check out Koingo.

I just want to make sure that it is the Utility Package, too. Yesterday’s Zot email said it was, and I downloaded all the applications in preparation for my purchase today!
I agree, this is a remarkable deal even if it’s not the Utility Package. But if it IS the Utility Package, whew! Those Koingo people must be out of their minds, but I LIKE IT!

Kongo makes great software!

Hello folks,
Yes, this is our Utility Package!
May 24th, 2008 at 11:59 am
Based on Koingo’s response – I’m in! I already have and like Librarian Pro, and plan to get their barcode scanner.

@Koingo: Sorry, obviously it’s all the Utility Package applications, but can you please specify if the license offered through MacZOT is the same as the license through your own store? Thanks.

@Koingo: Sorry, obviously it’s all the Utility Package applications, but can you please clarify if the license delivered through MacZOT is limited in comparison to the license delivered through your own store? Thanks.

Excellent bundle! One thing I noticed, Koingo, is that you used the same background image for your .dmg’s, and it says, “To install File Sheriff…”. Not all of you .dmg’s are file sheriff. :-)
May 24th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
I think I’m gonna get this too!
May 24th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
The DMG issue may be a bug with Mac OS X. Try mounting only one image at a time, instead of all of them at once. Also, yes, this is fully the Utility Package with all benefits and licenses therein.

I’ve had my eye on these great apps for a long time. Thanks for providing such a great opportunity to purchase them!
May 24th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
I’m pausing a bit because I’ve already bought the apps I really wanted. Still, it’s most likely worth it just for things to come in the future.
That said, Koingo has been really great about adding requested features. You can even track your suggestions and bug reports in their issue tracking system and see if/when they get added.
They really are a company that listens to users.

Buyer beware. I got MacPilot in another package deal some time ago, but it stopped functioning. Contacting the author resulted in zero responses. The license couldn’t be used with the new version either. So this might look like a cheap deal (although $40 isn’t really cheap), you might run into trouble when you need to upgrade or switch machines. Plus, for most of the system maintenance tasks you can find free alternatives.

We have an online support system, with ticket IDs for each support incident. If your issue was not resolved, please re-open the ticket and a support agent would be more than happy to help you.
May 25th, 2008 at 5:45 am
Also, MacZot, we love this deal, but while purchasing the apps separately would be more than $220, this is the utility package. The utility package costs $80. It’s still a great deal, but you should make clear in the future whether we’re purchasing a specific package. BTW, I already bought. Koingo is good on support and their software is great.
May 25th, 2008 at 9:28 am
The only thing left to consider before buying is if this is the full Utility Package with the free updates and FREE copies of all future Koingo apps. Koingo apps are great, but I want to make sure I’m getting what I thought I was getting. I got MacPilot as part of the free app a day that was done several years ago. It stopped working and I was forced to upgrade. I don’t have a problem of purchasing, but I want it spelled out as to what I REALLY get.
May 25th, 2008 at 10:46 am
I don’t think Koingo could have been much clearer than what they say above, which is that, yes, this is the complete Utility Package as sold on their site and as such must include lifetime free upgrades and free future products, as this is the product description there. As for the pricing, it’s pretty amazing that folks actually complain because the base price quoted here refers to the the apps bought separately rather than the Utility Package price. So what! That’s a discount package too, so what you’re getting here is a massive discount on a massive discount – what is there possibly to gripe about? This deal is just plain remarkable from wherever you’re standing. Personally, I have most of the apps and they‘re superb, but will buy anyway for the others and the bonuses, and to support such efforts.
As to Koingo and its support, I personally find their ticket support system frustrating. Feature suggestions and the like tend to lie around without a response before abruptly being closed. This is a bit affronting, but their troubleshooting support has always been good, at least before this system was introduced. In general this is a very serious and responsive company, one of the stars in the firmament.

@mcoad
I’m not denying that it’s an amazing discount. I’m not griping about the price, either. I just think that maczot needs to be clearer. If this is the utility package that we’re buying, which it is, then A. they need to say so, and B. it’s $80, not $220. I’m not trying to bring the value of the bundle down, and I realize that all of the apps together would cost $220, but if we’re buying the utility package, then we’re buying an $80 package. Just for the sake of clarity.

Mcoad,
Sorry I missed their other comment. Thank you for your cheerful assistance.

This is really a nice ZOT! I have a few Koingo apps already which I find both useful and stable. IMO, Koingo Software is a top notch developer.
Being one who is well-versed in system maintenance and troubleshooting, my reaction was “Wow!” when I first obtained and launched MacPilot and saw the myriad of features that were included.
May 25th, 2008 at 8:22 pm
I’ve bought several apps for great reduced prices (yes, this one included!), but above all nothing compares with such a feeling you got when you look to all of them and realize that one day you had supported the efforts of a great developer who is committed in rule the software market by what it *should* be. I really appreciate the way Koingo Software faces the wave. Your Utility Package rocks. Koingo rules. Thanks MacZot!
