I find the whole widget layout confusing… and even for the Zot price: this app is too expensive. I’m waiting for iLife 07 incl. a new version of Garageband and other goodies for almost the same price tag. Thanks, but thanks.

Nothing touches Ubercaster for a complete podcast creation tool on the Mac.
It’s strength lies in the ability to record a show in real time, adding tracks, effects, beds, etc, and not have to work like so many apps (Garageband for one) where you have to drag and drop and from the off stopping and starting the recording workflow – that gets so irritating. You can still edit the recording afterwards (just like in Garageband, for example) – this is the only application I’ve found that gives you the best of both worlds in this respect. Add to that encode and even automatically publish with pretty much one-click (though admittedly iTunes’ mp3 encoding is superior quality still), and it’s a complete package. I’ve been using Ubercaster for multiple podcasts since it was in Beta and can wholly recommend it.

I’m trying to get some of our users (http://www.talkshoe.com) who create shows and do some post-production try this tool out. Looks useful, but I’ll let the users of our service decide.

Bought that one in the preview-time while the app was in beta-mode. Very useful and best for live-recording. My way I do podcasting has changed totally.

I like the graphical means of layout—very creative freeform. Since it is only version 1.x the mp3 encoding quality (as mentioned by Neil) might get better in future versions? I’ve not tried my hand at podcasting. I’ve played a bit with GarageBand, but this does seem easier. Hmmmm….

Another aspect to remember is that you can’t blame other currencies because the dollar’s value sucks. I am seeing more and more terrific software coming for Europe and elsewhere, and I cringe every time I see the exchange rate when I go to purchase a license, but good software is good software.
