Some people think Friday the 13th is unlucky…
What do you think?
Is today YOUR lucky day?
If it is, you will get 13 Mac apps for only $13.00!
The catch? You only get 13 minutes to BUY!
First, I have to let you know that each developer, independently, let me know how crazy I am. And, I have to let you know that the price of $13, is really too low to warrant the quality of applications you’ll see in this bundle. However, here are some simple reasons why we were able to talk 13 independent developers, all of whom require the income from their applications to feed and clothe their families, into doing something fun on Friday the 13th. Ready? Here they are:
1. I told them, "C’mon, think about all the attention you’ll get for your applications." – that perked their ears a bit cuz remember, they’re coders, not sales and marketing types.
2. After the first 2 or 3 "NO WAY!" responses from each of them, I reminded them that if somebody gets your app at any price (even if it’s a good one) they might use it and tell somebody else about it. So, please, if you do buy this bundle, don’t hesitate to become an evangelist for the applications you like.
3. All of the developers behind these great applications trust MacZOT and they’re all alumni. They must have had at least one good experience here, else they wouldn’t be able to participate in this deal.
The logistics:
First, the purchasing system at MacZOT requires you to be a registered member. If you’re not already a member (and you might test your login if you haven’t in a while) register here
Already know you want this bundle – Set your Alarm, you’ve got 13 hours (if you’re seeing this at GO!)
Aren’t sure, download the apps and try them out. Do your research. Then, Get ready to click the BUY button.
You will have only 4 small windows of opportunity to purchase this bundle today.
These are the times of today’s sale. The buy button will only work during these times. If you miss it, try again the next time. All times are in Pacific Daylight Time. (Not sure what time it is? Find out here.)
-
Buy 1 – 13:13 (that’s 1:13 pm PDT)
-
Buy 2, 3, 4 ???
Before we get started, please remember, here in California it’s Friday the 13th. If anything happens that you consider "not good" it could be… Bad Luck!
Remember, you must be a member of macZOT in order to purchase. Prepare yourself, register now.
Disco is a workflow-based disc burner that supports a wide variety of filevsystems. It also makes use of the sudden motion sensor to detect potential burning problems, and the microphone for superfluous visual effects.

AppZapper is the uninstaller that Apple forgot. Everybody loves the drag and drop nature of OS X. Drag an app into your applications folder, and it’s installed. You’d think it would be that easy to delete an app – just a matter of dragging it to the trash. But it’s not. Applications install preferences, caches, and other support files throughout your computer that take up space and generate clutter. Deleting these by hand every time you delete an app is a pain.

Where do you ‘guys’ come up with this stuff? :) :)
Are we going to be able to do like in the past and do multiple and/or gift copies or is this a special ZOT?
April 12th, 2007 at 11:42 pm
I certainly hope you will have 2 of the windows take place after 7:30 EDT since I will be in a place all day where I will have no internet access. Please
remember all of us east coasters who may not have daytime access and have very long commutes home to our beloved Macs, TIA
April 12th, 2007 at 11:43 pm
Hopefully I don’t have too many of these already (Like DEVONThink) :)
April 12th, 2007 at 11:44 pm
Friends, wouldn’t it be unlucky to be on a train and miss this?
I’d get on the phone and talk to friends and family.
You will be able to use our gift purchasing system. If we’re lucky, it will work.
Enjoy this ZOT!
April 12th, 2007 at 11:44 pm
So far, I own ‘em all.
Everyone else should, too!
April 12th, 2007 at 11:46 pm
Whoa… great bundle! And I was just wondering when I could use the AppZapper joke again… “AppZapper anybody?â€
So, while I seriously have to think about this as I already own most of the apps — and reckon the remainder is going to include Disco, HoudahSpot, iClip4, xPad, Stickler (grr) and the like — this Zot is truly recommended to Newbies and those who joined MacZot only recently.
Zot On!
April 12th, 2007 at 11:52 pm
gryphonent -
I don’ think it’ll include xPad… But I can always use another copy of AppZapper and especially Disco.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:05 am
aw! I already have those!
April 13th, 2007 at 12:13 am
I plan to gift these apps to at least one person, perhaps two.
I love DevonThink, I use pro office (but I started at the basic level). AppZapper is a worthwhile app. So far, so go.
Now let’s hope that MacZot doesn’t crash during the mad rush.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:17 am
Isn’t this like right now…where’s the buy!!!
April 13th, 2007 at 12:18 am
I am waiting…
April 13th, 2007 at 12:33 am
Check my maths, 13:13 PDT = 21:13 UK time?
April 13th, 2007 at 12:39 am
22.13 germany
April 13th, 2007 at 12:46 am
@tom
Yes I make it nearly quarter past nine too, but at the moment I don’t think I’ll be coming back – but if I hadn’t got RW at MacHeist I would be there on the dot!
April 13th, 2007 at 12:51 am
So, for France, It will be 22h13 like in Germany if I am right?
April 13th, 2007 at 12:54 am

April 13th, 2007 at 1:02 am
Already an awesome bundle.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:27 am
Nothing particularly exciting for me so far. I thought a new one was getting revealed every hour, though? Seems to have been stuck on RapidWeaver for ages :)
*hopes for Lighthouse*
April 13th, 2007 at 2:00 am
I’m pretty sure iClip will be part of this. Anyone else have a guess?
April 13th, 2007 at 2:22 am
“You will have only 4 small windows of opportunity to purchase this bundle today.”
Will the other windows be before or after the first one?
April 13th, 2007 at 2:34 am
Already have most of these from the last MacHeist. Hope there aome interesting things in the final 9 apps.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:18 am
It’s been awhile since I purchased a Zot! but even though I have 1/2 of the ones shown so far I think I’ll pick this one up without even knowing the rest. I’m a two computer guy now so doubling up on a few apps won’t hurt me and maybe there will be something nifty revealed in the last nine.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:25 am
Are these going to be full licences? And what is the payment methid, since paypal doesn’t support my country?
April 13th, 2007 at 3:42 am
¿It’s 07:44 EDT, did I miss everything or what? I don’t get it. . .
April 13th, 2007 at 3:46 am
Look at the time you posted your comment if in doubt! just add up the hours to 13:13
April 13th, 2007 at 3:47 am
If I didn’t already have 3 out of 4 here, I’d seriously think about this but if I don’t get to see what the other apps are, I guess I’ll be passing on this one.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:52 am
Musta missed it…just saw that they all would get revealed. Guess I have to check back later.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:52 am
Reading the comments I hope MacZot will include World Clock Deluxe or something like it… people in this forum seem to have problem reading the time, or at least understanding time zones (yes, there’s more than one).
April 13th, 2007 at 4:08 am
why is it i always seem to have trouble logging in and staying logged into this site? i have cookies on, javascript on, but i log in and every time i go back to the home page i’m logged out again. anyone else have this trouble?
April 13th, 2007 at 4:33 am
It reminds me of the sales where people start camping out in the snow 2 days before.
I have better things to do with my life than come back here every 13 minutes to check if the 13 are available. Great applications they might be, but of the 13 how many will I already have or have no interest in?
Sorry to be a spoilsport, but if I need it I will just buy it.
April 13th, 2007 at 4:52 am
hey trygve, thanks for the deal. just placed my order!
April 13th, 2007 at 4:56 am
Jurgen Proschinger, maybe you know what Pacific Daylight Time means, but for my part, I only use the legal Greenwich time for counting hours.
April 13th, 2007 at 5:17 am
OK, it’s 13 minutes after the hour and I am here. I am a member. This makes no sense to me whatsoever. What do I have to do to order this? Where is this button that is supposed to be active? What is going on here?
Just chalk this up as an unusually dense user, but I don’t get it. I just want to order the bundle and go about my business.
April 13th, 2007 at 5:20 am
Yes in Germany it’ll be: 22:13
Damn it! I’m on a party at this time.
April 13th, 2007 at 5:20 am
Finally, a “mystery” (even though four have been revealed). I’ve got my stopwatch set. I’ve got RW on two computers already and would like it for my third, that alone is worth the $13 asking price. Maybe they’ll throw in Lil Snitch :)
April 13th, 2007 at 5:52 am
Ok, I’ve been a MacZot watcher for awhile, but I’m never bought anything. Is this going to be 13 apps for $13 each? Or 13 apps for $13 total? Help a new gal out, will ya? Thanks!
April 13th, 2007 at 5:56 am
I’m just curious if there’s going to be any software that hasn’t been on Macheist or MacAppADay.
April 13th, 2007 at 5:57 am
Interesting Zot concept. I like it. Unfortunately I already own the four revealed, plus I own two Discos already. I would love to know what the other 9 are so I can decide if I really need to spend 13 dollars or not. From the description it sounds like most are solid apps that have been posted on Zot in the past, so the chance it great that I have many of them already.
For those coming back every 13 mins. they told you that the first buy will be at 1:13 PM EDT (or 13:13 PM EDT). That’s 3:13 PM CDT.
They haven’t announced the 2nd, 3rd or 4th buy times yet.
April 13th, 2007 at 6:20 am
“For those coming back every 13 mins. they told you that the first buy will be at 1:13 PM EDT (or 13:13 PM EDT). That’s 3:13 PM CDT.”
No, it says 13:13 _PDT_, or 1:13 _PDT_. Which is still 3:13 pm CDT. ?
April 13th, 2007 at 6:32 am
Sorry that was a slip of the mind, as I am working with people from the East coast. I did mean PDT, thanks for the correction Matt.
April 13th, 2007 at 6:42 am
13 apps for $13 TOTAL – A little hint… This bundle is worth over $300 retail price.
Pacific Daylight Time
Not sure when that is… go to http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/
April 13th, 2007 at 6:43 am
Truly an awesome deal, even if it turns out I have most or all of them. Thanks for a little fun on my favorite day of the year!
April 13th, 2007 at 6:46 am
Am I imagining things, or did the post originally say that one more app would be revealed every hour up until the first buy time?
Anyway, I’ll probably buy it anyway… heck, AppZapper alone costs $13, so even if I already have most of the apps, I’ll probably still be getting a pretty good deal.
April 13th, 2007 at 6:49 am
Can you clarify your clock time? I just posted at 9:43 AM CDT, which should mean the time stamp on the previous message would be 7:43 AM CDT. Has your computer “sprung forward” yet…or am I just suffering from Lack of Coffee Syndrome?
April 13th, 2007 at 6:59 am
1:13 PM PDT is 4:13 AM CST. That’s China standard time.
Anything after about 6 pm PDT would be nice for me, that’s when I awaken in the morn.
April 13th, 2007 at 7:08 am
Just wanted to clarify that this Zot will not be offered at all until 1:13 PM PDT and that the 2nd, 3rd and 4th chances to buy the Zot will happen at different, unknown times AFTER the 1st? It would be nice if you’d tell us more of the apps being offered in the Zot, might fuel even more excitement. :)
April 13th, 2007 at 7:12 am
Over $300 worth? I make the current standing worth $123. I wonder what the rest will be…
April 13th, 2007 at 7:12 am
What happened to one app revealed every hour until the first buy? It’s been RapidWeaver for many, many hours now… unless I’m missing something here.
April 13th, 2007 at 7:29 am
This is a great offer. I have three of the four listed, but I have been planning on purchasing DT Personal for a few months now. That alone is more than worth the $13. Great Zot! Keep up the good work.
April 13th, 2007 at 7:35 am
Okay, folks. We just revealed a few more of the apps:
Business Trio 2007 from Jumsoft
iClip 4 from Inventive
That still leaves 7 more apps to be revealed today.
Tell your friends, and set your clocks. You have less than 5 hours to go for the first buy at 1:13 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.
The buy will ONLY last for 3 minutes.
Once that buy ends, we’ll reveal the next buy time.
April 13th, 2007 at 7:38 am
I’ve got three of the four already, and will break even on AppZapper….How bad can this be? Now the rest of you are getting sleepy….sleepy….Repeat after me: “I’ll check back tomorrow….†:-D
April 13th, 2007 at 8:02 am
If you want more people to know, maybe you do, maybe you don’t…
Go to http://www.digg.com and search macZOT. There are at least two blog posts you can digg to get them to the front of the page.
How cool would it be if all Mac users knew about this?!
April 13th, 2007 at 8:09 am
“The buy will ONLY last for 3 minutes.”
!!!!
Say what? What happened to the 13 minute buying window?
Still no killer apps here yet. Waiting patiently! : )
April 13th, 2007 at 8:12 am
Posted and getting my visitors ready for the Zot!
PS: In your post of 7:35, you say ’3′ minutes, not ’13′.
:)
Good luck to all involved.
April 13th, 2007 at 8:14 am
Aren’t more apps supposed to be revealed by now?
April 13th, 2007 at 8:16 am
Clarification – 13 minutes of TOTAL buying time today.
First buy is at 1:13 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. It will last for only 3 minutes.
If you miss it, you will have 3 more chances.
IMHO, these are ALL killer apps! These developers ROCK!
April 13th, 2007 at 8:22 am
“Clarification – 13 minutes of TOTAL buying time today.”
Ouch. Gentlemen, synchronize your watches.
April 13th, 2007 at 8:22 am
Ouch, I didn’t realise we only had 3 minutes to buy. Maczot is going to explode under the weight of people hitting refresh every few seconds!
April 13th, 2007 at 8:54 am
Great, you’re going to make me wake up at 1.30 AM my time. And the buy should last at least 13 minutes, going by the 13 logic.
And I already own 4 of the apps revealed so far … what do I do when signing up for the new licenses?
April 13th, 2007 at 9:06 am
Hi Sanjay,
We aren’t going to MAKE you do anything. ;-)
There will be 3 other buy times before midnight Pacific Daylight Time.
Sleep well.
April 13th, 2007 at 10:11 am
Yeah, three minutes is a bit short. I will definitely buy this if I can but I do foresee a load isssue just as others have pointed out. Looks like I’ll be wishing I could have dropped the money in your pocket instead of actually doing so unless I am very lucky.
April 13th, 2007 at 10:14 am
Don’t get discouraged too easily, folks. There are a total of 4 buying times. :-)
April 13th, 2007 at 10:17 am
Soo, 10 hours later and so far the only one I don’t have are “Home Business Trio 2007″ and “Dockstar”. [Well, maybe I could add Bookdog too but I have a special trial lic for that]. Too bad you couldn’t do like you did with the Heist bundle and and gift the lics we already had. But hey, I’m not complaining, as long as the server doesn’t crash and I get my copy of this bundle ordered, it’s all good. :)
April 13th, 2007 at 10:20 am
I hope no one is on dialup, 3 mins might not be long enough for them. Now, once you’ve clicked buy you’re in right? You’re not turning off the whole thing (Buying process) after 3 mins right? :)
April 13th, 2007 at 10:21 am
So basically the action runs while the US is awake. Well, what about the Mac user’s outside the US? It seems we are getting shafted all the time …
The Earth doesn’t only have the time zones between EST and PST …
April 13th, 2007 at 10:29 am
So, what just happened? All of a sudden on the front page all of the apps are shown, and there’s a big red “Offer Closed!”
It’s only 10:30AM PDT right now.
April 13th, 2007 at 10:30 am
Dude, no offense, but I believe Brian lives in the US(CA). So I think it’s more of a matter of convenience for him. Perhaps you could be the 1st of such a site to cater to the needs and wants of the rest of the globe. Could be profitable for you…
April 13th, 2007 at 10:33 am
Well, since he doesn’t have to manually process each order there’s no reason to be location specific and restrict it to the “US buying time”. That is just inconsiderate towards the rest of the world.
April 13th, 2007 at 10:37 am
I’m also wondering what just happened… the first window is supposed to be 1:13pm PST, but it looks like it’s already passed. It’s currently 10:37am PST, or 2.5 hours before the offer was supposed to open??
April 13th, 2007 at 10:38 am
offering an incredible deal on his terms isn’t really too insulting to anyone now is it? It is going to be difficult even for those in the U.S. and there are more opportunities out there. I’m just bummed about the short window and was hoping we don’t kill the servers. But not bummed enough to call it an insult :)
Also, if you don’t work for MacZOT it is likely that you don’t know specifically what goes into handling a new kind of offer like this. Since it is the first time, they may have to (or at least WANT to) babysit it to make sure the time-based windows work. I manage systems for a pretty complex web/telecom blended application and I know that the first time we did some of the trickier things we definitely babysat the process to monitor it, learn from it, improve it, etc.
April 13th, 2007 at 10:38 am
Why did the first Buy chance JUST end? its not 1:13pm PDT.
April 13th, 2007 at 10:40 am
Also, I’m not able to stay logged in on the home page. I can log in fine, but as soon as I go back to the home page I’m logged out. It would be a bit upsetting to miss out because of some programming glitch on the home page.
April 13th, 2007 at 10:40 am
It’s not any easier for some us in the U.S. either. The 1st happens to hit at a time when I will be on my way home from work. The 2nd will probably hit when I’m picking up my children from child care. Hell the 3rd could go when I’m dropping a deuce… It comes down to how bad you want it. I persoanlly Thank the MacZot Team for putting such a great deal together. Everybody has their own opinion though.
April 13th, 2007 at 10:44 am
ROFLMAO @ DIMEBAG2 – “…the 3rd could go when I’m dropping a deuce…”
Also, agreeing with everything you stated in the post (and looking for the mindbleach for the mental image of you dropping a deuce).
April 13th, 2007 at 10:49 am
Oh, you didn’t just put up a countdown timer that counts down to 1:13PM LOCAL time, did you? You did. That’s gonna solve all the confusion.
April 13th, 2007 at 10:50 am
What’s happening???
The first BUY wasn’t scheduled until 1:13 PM PDT, and was closed by 10:40 AM PDT!!
ZOT!, Please respond – there must be an error someplace, and it’s not in our ability to tell time.
April 13th, 2007 at 10:51 am
Except for RapidWeaver, the offer isn’t worth $13.
I was looking forward to this offer since 3 AM, but it is just the same rehashing of the same programs maczot pushes on a daily basis.
Pass.
April 13th, 2007 at 10:53 am
Yeah, why is the offer closed when the first time has not even arrived yet. This is really confusing!
I’d buy the bundle, but if you can not be clear and consistent on when the offer can be purchased then this is bad deal that will backfire.
April 13th, 2007 at 10:57 am
Who else here thinks Zotgeisters should be able to buy without messing about?
I have most of these apps (the ones revealed anyway) already but I would like to buy and gift them to friends and family.
Not sure if I have the patience tho…we’ll see…
April 13th, 2007 at 10:57 am
Yup, that’s it, the new countdown timer on the site is keyed into your computer’s time. Well done.
And I’m still not able to stay logged in.
April 13th, 2007 at 10:59 am
Peter,
just trying to keep the situation a little more lighthearted. Hopefully I didn’t scar you for life. ;)
April 13th, 2007 at 11:01 am
I think this is turning out to be an April Fool’s day prank!
April 13th, 2007 at 11:02 am
I really don’t understand. The first window wasn’t scheduled until 1:13 PM Pacific time, and was closed sooner. What does Pacific time mean?
April 13th, 2007 at 11:06 am
Obviously this is an error. They’re probably setting up the ‘post sale’ pages and must have accidentally published them. Don’t panic guys!
April 13th, 2007 at 11:06 am
Hmmm,
My 2cents [or is that a dime or a quarter cause of inflation :P ] is that it’s “Offer Closed” now cause it’s not not valid now. When it’s 1:13pm it’ll say “Buy NOW!” ;) buuut I could be wrong since I don’t work for this site…
April 13th, 2007 at 11:11 am
Wow, there are some nice apps in this bundle. I have most of them already. I don’t have Meander, Audio Bookbuilder or iWorkout, but I’m not sure that I would really use them myself.
I don’t have Home Business, it sounds interesting, but not sure I would actually use it either.
I also don’t have Dockstar or Socialist, and I might try them out, but again I’m not sure I would use them.
I have everything else already and in some cases more than one of them.
If any one has any good things to say about these apps I don’t have, let me know.
I love AppZapper, iClip4, BookDog and Disco. They are the bomb. I have not had a chance to really use DevonThink or Rapid Weaver, but I have heard many good things about them both. I have Soulver, but have not really found a need for it so I can’t really comment on it.
April 13th, 2007 at 11:11 am
After some recherche, I have finally understand. This is the washington hour that Mac Zot use, not the Californian hour. So, the first offer is closed because actually it’s 14h at washington.
April 13th, 2007 at 11:13 am
Hey, what’s the deal? It is 11:13am Pacific Time and the bundle was for sale? Then there was no buy button to click? What gives?
April 13th, 2007 at 11:13 am
No no, what’s going on (as mentioned above) is that the countdown timer is using the time that your computer is set to. try it now, set your computer’s clock back a few hours and you’ll see a countdown.
I’ve set my computer to PSD time and it says 1 hour 58 minutes left, instead of “Offer Closed”. It’s a hastily added and poorly thought out bit of script, not a publishing problem.
April 13th, 2007 at 11:13 am
So, is the first offer really over? I saw it was counting down, but it’s only 11:14a PDT.
April 13th, 2007 at 11:14 am
Ah, never mind – answered above :)
April 13th, 2007 at 11:14 am
1:15 CST and I was watching the counter go down to Closed before I realized what was happening. So I’m “unlucky” since MacZOT said PST, but used CST. :(
April 13th, 2007 at 11:15 am
Washington hour? In what world is Washington three hours ahead of California?
Oh, you meant Washington D.C., didn’t you? D.C. is EST, this sale is on PSD, which is three hours behind.
April 13th, 2007 at 11:17 am
Oh, for Pete’s sake, would someone from MacZot please fix this?
No one is reading the comments (or we’re all posting at the same time, more likely) and people are getting confused and discouraged.
April 13th, 2007 at 11:18 am
I’m not seeing a timer on the page. I’ve looked at it from Firefox and from Safari, and I don’t see this timer you are speaking about. Where on the page is it located?
April 13th, 2007 at 11:20 am
Seems I own all of these apps… that as, all of the ones I think are useful. I was excited this morning, but now I’m going to have to pass.
April 13th, 2007 at 11:21 am
They need to hard code their offset, and use something akin to (new Date()).getTimezoneOffset() which is in minutes.
April 13th, 2007 at 11:22 am
Never mind JClark answered my timer question as follows:
‘No no, what’s going on (as mentioned above) is that the countdown timer is using the time that your computer is set to. try it now, set your computer’s clock back a few hours and you’ll see a countdown.
I’ve set my computer to PSD time and it says 1 hour 58 minutes left, instead of “Offer Closedâ€. It’s a hastily added and poorly thought out bit of script, not a publishing problem. ‘
April 13th, 2007 at 11:23 am
JClark said: Oh, you meant Washington D.C., didn’t you?
Yes. It’s what I have understand. Washington DC was at 13h13 when the first buy was possible. :(
D.C. is EST, this sale is on PSD, which is three hours behind.
I know, I don’t understand like some other people her. Sorry. I leave in France and Pacific time is not something that I use everyday :)
April 13th, 2007 at 11:26 am
After you kill the milliseconds:
amount += ( 420 – (new DateTime()).getTimezoneOffset() ) * 60
April 13th, 2007 at 11:27 am
Hey,
We had a mistake in our PHP.
The buy button will go live at 1:13 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. No worries!
:-)
April 13th, 2007 at 11:29 am
Can somebody from maczot please confirm it’s a problem with the javascript? In that case fix it or remove it.
It’s better with none than a broken.
April 13th, 2007 at 11:30 am
OK, I give up! I was signed in and ready to purchase but couldn’t find the BUY button anywhere. Time ran out on Buy 1 so now I’m stuck waiting for the next buying opportunity.
Please ZOT, make the BUY button more visible ’cause I couldn’t find it and others couldn’t either!
April 13th, 2007 at 11:39 am
so what is the exact time? is it 13.13 in Vacouver time (3.13am in Thailand)?
I have to stay awake because of this.
April 13th, 2007 at 11:41 am
Since a few people seem to not be reading any of the comments otherwise:
BUY 1 HAS NOT HAPPENED YET, IT WAS A CODING ERROR AS CONFIRMED (AND EXPLAINED, SEVERAL TIMES) ABOVE.
THERE IS STILL ABOUT 90 MINUTES TO GO BEFORE BUY 1.
April 13th, 2007 at 11:42 am
This is too funny ;0
April 13th, 2007 at 11:46 am
You know, now that I think about it, I shouldn’t be making any effort to explain this to people. The more people who think they’ve missed it, the fewer there will be crowding the site when it’s time. :)
April 13th, 2007 at 11:50 am
Chayin (et.al.):
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html
Where can the ZOT! admin put that link so fewer people will keep asking what time it is?
April 13th, 2007 at 11:54 am
well, i’ll say the bundle certainly looks worth the $13. i have most of the apps in the list, but i might just pick up a 2nd copy anyway for a 2nd mac as well as the few i don’t have.
let’s just hope the server doesn’t crash under the load. (ever try to get a woot bag o’ crap??? ;-)
April 13th, 2007 at 11:55 am
Wise thinking, JClark. ;)
April 13th, 2007 at 11:58 am
All zots over, move along, nothing to see here…
/wilful misinformation
April 13th, 2007 at 11:58 am
Is my browser wonky or does the countdown keep resetting when you refresh? It keeps going back to 1 hour, 37 minutes when I come back to the page.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:02 pm
The counter DOES keep reverting to 1 hour 37 min on mine too.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:04 pm
“The counter DOES keep reverting to 1 hour 37 min on mine too”
Me too
April 13th, 2007 at 12:05 pm
Where will the “buy” button appear?
thx
April 13th, 2007 at 12:06 pm
HiHi – here too ….
Friday the 13th does not seem to be a lucky day for Zot …
April 13th, 2007 at 12:06 pm
Right here I guess.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:07 pm
Mine says 1hr 37min too, even though there’s an hour to go. 8-)
April 13th, 2007 at 12:10 pm
SLK -
They put the link on the front page.
Like the old saying goes … You can please alot of the people some of the time and some of the people a lot of the time but you can’t please all the people all the time.
They could make the link a button 1024×768, multi-colors, and flashing and someone would still miss it. I’m not making fun of people, it’s just the way it is…
April 13th, 2007 at 12:11 pm
heh, maybe …
echo(‘dateNowServer = new Date(2007,3,13,’.date(‘g,i’).’00);’);
April 13th, 2007 at 12:12 pm
Thanks, Opello.
We’re working on it. :-)
No worries – stay focused on 1:13 p.m. PDT.
That is when the BUY button will be live – if WE are lucky.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:17 pm
BTW, that’s Dockstar 2, right? Macminute has a post about Dockstar 2 right above their MacZOT post on this offer.
http://www.macminute.com/
DockStar 2 adds Screen Saver and Dashboard Widget
April 13 – 14:32 EDT Ecamm Network today announced the release of DockStar 2.0. The update adds a Dashboard Widget, Screen Saver, sound effects and other enhancements. DockStar is an add-on for Mail.app that adds up to five new-email indicators to the dock icon. This lets Mail users keep track of email as it arrives in various accounts and local mailboxes. In addition, DockStar brings customizable shapes and colors to the dock. Seamless integration allows users to control every aspect of the dock icon directly from Mail’s settings panel. The new version’s Screen Saver offers real-time information about incoming email using DockStar’s customizable mail badges. DockStar 2.0 is priced at US$8 and a demo is available.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:21 pm
Hey can any1 tell me if PAYPAL is going to process orders. Cause if they do, no Zot for me.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:22 pm
That’s the norm.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:22 pm
Good question. Is it Dockstar 2?
April 13th, 2007 at 12:23 pm
Timer is fixed! Yeah!!!
April 13th, 2007 at 12:26 pm
Check that, starts over at 46 min… bummer.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:32 pm
Aw. Not being such an easy fix it must be more complex than I figured. Caching or something getting in the way. Oh well.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:35 pm
As long as the site does not collapse in half an hour.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:35 pm
Okay folks, about 37 minutes left.
The buy button will be available at 1:13 p.m. for 3 minutes.
A new page will be up at that time with the buy button on it.
Payment is via PayPal. You don’t need a PayPal account to purchase.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:36 pm
kodac,
Now I see the link, thanks. It’s a bit subtle though I agree it’s a near-guaranteed someone would miss it even if it were blatantly obvious. ;)
The timer’s been working fine here with Safari.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:38 pm
Dockstar 2 – Yes, you are correct it is Dockstar 2.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:53 pm
If you buy all can you gift the ones you already have? Or can you buy them individually?
thanks,
TLR
April 13th, 2007 at 12:54 pm
phooey, the timer just disappeared again.
April 13th, 2007 at 12:58 pm
So, is the fact that I’m not staying logged on on the home page going to be a problem? I don’t remember how previous Zots I’ve purchased have worked, but given that I’m only going to have 3 minutes to figure this out I’d like to know if I should be doing something different now.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:00 pm
I wanted to know if we have 3 min to click on the Buy button, or 3min to click, fill fields, order, and so on ???
April 13th, 2007 at 1:01 pm
Just refresh your page at 1:13 p.m. PDT and buy.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:01 pm
Okay, I’m awake. Didn’t need the alarm, I wonder why. It’s 1.32AM here, BTW.
Someone get me up to speed … Twitter (yuck!) says all 13 apps are revealed, I just see the same six upto iclip4.
What’s going on? What’s this timer problem that has people all excited?
April 13th, 2007 at 1:04 pm
Sanjay Mehta-
Nothing to worry about now :)
T-7 minutes to buy!
April 13th, 2007 at 1:06 pm
6 min!!!!!
April 13th, 2007 at 1:07 pm
less than 5!!!
April 13th, 2007 at 1:19 pm
DOWNz!
April 13th, 2007 at 1:19 pm
damn I missed it – stupid email that needed to be answered!
April 13th, 2007 at 1:20 pm
Sorry! Connection to Database not available
April 13th, 2007 at 1:35 pm
I watched the countdown to zero, and it immediately changed to “offer closed.”
Then of course, the server died and a coder was rushed to emergency.
What gives?
April 13th, 2007 at 1:35 pm
So the catch is that at exactly 1:13pm PST the servers dropped, and then came up after the offer expired.
Great offer, too bad the servers couldn’t handle the load :/
April 13th, 2007 at 1:36 pm
didn’t seem to be zot’s lucky day either. the bag o’ crap effect FTW!
April 13th, 2007 at 1:36 pm
WTF I’ve been waiting all day sitting here and I refreshed for a half hour! I’m TRYING TO BUY!
April 13th, 2007 at 1:37 pm
lol who DID get this? Crash and burn… :( Just give it to Zotgeisters to take a bunch of the load off the top.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:37 pm
Did anyone actually get to buy?
April 13th, 2007 at 1:37 pm
Now I want to know how MacZot want to proceed to respect the offer for every one who was connected to the server at the right time ?
April 13th, 2007 at 1:37 pm
got the “Sorry! Connection to Database not available ” message for over 15 minutes,
finally able to connect – 8 seconds left and no “buy” button!
What gives? When will next buy time be listed?
April 13th, 2007 at 1:38 pm
so…countdown reaches 0, says offer closed…then the site crashes for 23 minutes…no zot for me… =(
April 13th, 2007 at 1:39 pm
“Sorry! Connection to Database not available”
Assuming this is going to keep up all day, could there, perhaps, be a secondary offer where we can pick up, say three or four of these for $13? I mean, I’m here at the right time, I’m just itching to spend my money, so why make it so difficult?
April 13th, 2007 at 1:39 pm
I managed to buy right after the server rebooted. It said 3 minutes remaining.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:39 pm
Really crappy, this was my only chance to get it too because now I have to go to a dinner. That SUCKS!
April 13th, 2007 at 1:39 pm
Methinks this was potentially a fun idea that has turned into a bit of a mess! I bet they don’t do this one again… ;)
Anyway, there are some stellar apps in the bundle for those who don’t have them already, truly excellent value.
Me, I’m too old for this kind of panic, I’m off to settle in front of the TV!
April 13th, 2007 at 1:39 pm
Well, that was unpleasant. Did anyone actually get through? My screen showed a countdown that counted down to… a message saying the offer had ended. And the next chances will probably be at my daughter’s bedtime, or long after I’ve gone to bed, here in EST. Oh well.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:40 pm
Great set of apps, too bad the servers can’t stay up to actually sale this bundle. When it is up, it keeps logging me out when I go to buy, no buy button?
This seems more like an April Fools sale than a Friday the 13th sale.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:40 pm
The site crapped out when the time came. This really sucks. While this promotion is good, the requirement of having to order in such a short time period is a problem that was not well considered.
Please consider changing this for the rest of the promotion so that those of us who are interested can actually complete the purchase.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:40 pm
And everytime I refresh it counts down from 27 seconds and then says offer closed :P
April 13th, 2007 at 1:40 pm
Yea, some kinda offer this was. 13 apps for $13…you get ZERO minutes to buy. What a cluster…
I joined for this?
April 13th, 2007 at 1:41 pm
ha ha ha! did you have to hose the server down? that was a wholly negative experience for my friend, who i had introduced to macZOT today via this promotion. she was pretty annoyed.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:42 pm
Ah c’mon…… your 12 days late……
This is an April Fools joke right ? Seemed to good to be true….. like Russ said…. it got to be 13:13 and from that point on all I got was a screen that would start counting down from 29 secs…. and then state “Offer Closed!”….. of course, thats when I wasn’t getting the db connection error or the site unavailable msgs
April 13th, 2007 at 1:42 pm
Boo, hiss. :(
April 13th, 2007 at 1:43 pm
I’m paraphrasing, of course…
“I know you don’t want to sell your app for $1, but you won’t really have to… see, when the time rolls around everyone will slam the server and bring it down. Then we get to blame it on Friday the 13th.”
:P
April 13th, 2007 at 1:43 pm
Well, it gave me an order id … *crosses fingers*
April 13th, 2007 at 1:43 pm
Sorry! Connection to Database not available
April 13th, 2007 at 1:45 pm
I think this is a big joke. You’re servers can’t handle the load, so the machines keep resetting…do you think we’re just a bunch of monkeys that have nothing to better to do than slam on the refresh button every few seconds? I can’t believe the developers allowed this… You guys are a bunch of jackasses for wasting my time.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:45 pm
SOME STOLEZ YUR INTERNETZ!11!!
April 13th, 2007 at 1:45 pm
Weird… they must be keeping it open, I just got it, at least 30 minutes late.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:45 pm
Ok, waiting for this to refresh to see if ZOT has posted anything on the “Server Down” Debacle …
April 13th, 2007 at 1:46 pm
Same here. As soon as the counter went to zero, there was no “BUY” button, and it said “Offer closed”. Then the server went down.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
somehow i got thru at 1:44 pdt and got the buy screen = just got paypal receipt in email too… hope it sticks :)
April 13th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Oddly, the link was hidden inside “My Account,” if you could get in at all.
Got one, around 4:25, so they kept it open longer.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Woot! I was able to buy it!
April 13th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
I managed to order, when I refreshed I saw a blue ‘buy’ link and went through the order process, and I have a Paypal receipt.
Now the home page has changed back to the offer closed page. Weird.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:48 pm
I just placed an order as well. Took many clicks of the Refresh button though. I kept getting “Sorry… Connection to database not available” messages.
April 13th, 2007 at 1:50 pm
I got lucky and got thru – 1/2 hour after it began. Frustrating to have to spend that amount of time reloading to see if the site was back up, but still, I’m really not complaining–it’s a good deal nonetheless. Heck, I’ve spent a lot longer than that waiting for a lousy 90-second roller coaster!
April 13th, 2007 at 1:59 pm
Like everone else I got the Connection to Database not available as well as WordPress Error establishing a database connection etc.
I guess it really was a poor April fools joke on all of us.
I shouldn’t be surprised as one of the last things I bought from Zot during a normal buying period gave me a crashed server also. Just imagine 1000′s of people trying to log on at once.
Now I can’t even submit this as the server is down again. Will keep trying.
April 13th, 2007 at 2:00 pm
Subject: Receipt for Your Payment to macZOT!
The whiners where warned. It is indeed Friday the 13th. With some luck and patience I got mine.
Thank you very much. To all involved!!
April 13th, 2007 at 2:00 pm
Woot! I was able to buy it too.
April 13th, 2007 at 2:06 pm
Well… Waste of time. If you are going to do something like this and you have a suspicion that your server might not handle the load. Do something about it. A quote form the Zot Twitter: “what should we do if the servers crash?” That’s a couple of hours pre-crash.
I don’t believe for a second you hadn’t seen this coming. I don’t like being laughed at. If you don’t see us as valuable customers that bring you money, why should we?
April 13th, 2007 at 2:10 pm
I don’t even see a BUY button. I’d really like this bundle but every time I refresh, the counter goes from 28 seconds to zero, it then says “Offer Closed”, then when I refresh right after, it says “cannot connect to server”, and it takes me 10 or so minutes to even get here. So how are some of you finding a buy button and getting int?
April 13th, 2007 at 2:10 pm
I managed to get through, got to paypal, paid for it, got my “you have been billed” e-mail from paypal but was sent back to a dead maczot.com site. Naturally I refreshed until I got a confirmation page but then the server went down again.
Now when it seems to be up and somewhat stable my order hasn’t been logged on my account on maczot.com. Shame, I was hoping to fiddle with some of the programs tonight but at least I have a receipt from paypal in case their server missed all orders.
April 13th, 2007 at 2:11 pm
Looks like it was my lucky day too. I was able to buy the bundle, have a Paypal order confirmation that shows the transaction went through and payment was sent to MacZOT.
Woot!
April 13th, 2007 at 2:12 pm
someone register downzot.com
April 13th, 2007 at 2:13 pm
I got through and got a paypal receipt but I’m not counting my chickens until I get the zot confirmation :(
April 13th, 2007 at 2:13 pm
Where are you people seeing a BUY button? does it appear in the same place as the counter?
April 13th, 2007 at 2:16 pm
Oh boy am I lucky! I got it too!
Wait…
What do you mean the Zot today wasn’t a “big waste of time reloading pages from an overloaded server”?
Oh… I see…
Well, then, no. I didn’t get it.
April 13th, 2007 at 2:19 pm
I’ve been try to get it for over 60 mins now and I keep getting “unable to connect to server” or “Sorry! Connection to Database not available” almost the whole time
April 13th, 2007 at 2:22 pm
I never could get it to come up, same connection failed error, then when I did get it to display I had the same 27 second countdown clock that went to Offer Closed and then the server was down for several minutes. I did this several times on both issues. Now it is onto Buy #2 Time at 3:13PM PDT, and I’m not sure I can be available nor am I sure I want to waste my time with all the problems.
Man the 1:13PM PDT Buy time was like a made Christmas Rush or one of those Shopping Stampedees for one of those game consoles that we saw people on the news getting hurt.
It was an interesting idea, and a great deal, but it is just frustrating from a customer stand point. Definitely need to plan ahead to handle large volumes of traffic at one time.
April 13th, 2007 at 2:25 pm
http://mnm.uib.es/gallir/wp-cache-2/
April 13th, 2007 at 2:27 pm
Call me a whiner if you wish but I’m pretty flippin irritated about this whole thing. They hype it all day and what happens when it’s time to buy? A great big DDoS. Six or so people were able to get in to buy. Poor planning ZOT… poor planning. The only thing you guys have managed to do is make a handful of people happy and a few hundred angry. Your answer thusfar? Tough luck. Today’s outcome will determine wether or not I continue as a member of MacZOT.
April 13th, 2007 at 2:27 pm
Jan, I’m unfortunately in the same boat. I ordered the bundle and got a PayPal receipt, but I haven’t received any confirmation from macZot and the bundle hasn’t been added to my account’s order history.
April 13th, 2007 at 2:30 pm
Hey I got it too.
The complaining reminds me of MacAppADay though.
April 13th, 2007 at 2:31 pm
Wow. Terrible. I can’t believe after this debacle that MacZot is not giving us a second chance at the first window! Horrible customer service! What is this? See how many customers we can drive away day? All MacZot members should be emailed a link with the opportunity to buy this package. I was here when you said I would be able to buy and I wasn’t able to buy. False advertising, anyone?
April 13th, 2007 at 2:32 pm
Sorry guys. Our server crashed.
Next time to buy is at 3:13 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.
Please try again. We are hoping to be able to handle all the requests this time.
Thanks!
:-)
April 13th, 2007 at 2:37 pm
I am lucky, I got mine too. Thanks MacZot. :)
April 13th, 2007 at 2:38 pm
I can’t evem login.
the second I go to the mail page, the system think I’m no longer a member.
Ji ZOT how about forgetting the 13 damn minutes and let people BUY the apps
April 13th, 2007 at 2:38 pm
First… this is a great idea. Second, I’d like to buy without even knowing what tha apps are. Third… I don’t think it’s going to work out though. Bummer.
I’m waiting, then I can’t BUY.
Again, MacZOT… great idea, but I think the Internet Jason Vorhees has got it out for me.
April 13th, 2007 at 2:39 pm
Site is up, but I don’t see a BUY button. I log in and click on “today” tab and I have to log in again…..repeat, repeat….still no buy button
April 13th, 2007 at 2:40 pm
So where is the buy button supposed to be if I can actually get through the next time?
April 13th, 2007 at 2:40 pm
Nice of you to apologize and tell us to try again. I scheduled my day around the bundle and was there on the dot only to get a message it was sold out the moment the countdown timer got to 0. Tried getting on for half an hour and the server was down and you say you are ‘hoping’ to have it work next time? Booooooo
April 13th, 2007 at 2:41 pm
Yeah, I’m having the same problem as everyone else with being a member. I can actually log in, but as soon as I navigate to a different page, it doesn’t remember I’m logged in…
April 13th, 2007 at 2:43 pm
So after a long time hitting F5, I finally got in (about 30 minutes after the buy time), got the buy page, and sent my money. I got the confirmation from PayPal, but nothing from MacZot yet. My account page lists something called “Round One”, which has now changed to read “Round Two”. Does this mean I got it?
April 13th, 2007 at 2:48 pm
I never saw a buy button either, but there was a Special Offer link when I (re)logged in. Clicking on that took me to Paypal Got the receipt in seconds.
I’m happy but it was confusing …
April 13th, 2007 at 2:49 pm
I bought a couple copies since I’m a new zot and didnt’ have any of them. I was expecting the server to crash, but I did eventually get through.
Developers: Don’t get discouraged, you can’t make some people happy. They think they’re entitled to EVERYTHING and have to work for nothing.
Discouraged Users: I certainly understand your frustration, but the folks here at MacZot are doing you a service by getting these developers to offer you deals on their Applications. How about giving them a bit of a break? Amazon.com went down when they offered some of their Thursday deals. If the larges e-commerce site can’t prepare for it how do you expect MacZot too?
April 13th, 2007 at 2:51 pm
Where is the “special offer link” or buy button?
April 13th, 2007 at 2:53 pm
Hi Devin,
Thanks for the support.
Yes, it is frustrating when you can get through and you’ve been waiting all day. I hate when that happens.
We apologize, but we didn’t really know how huge the response would be or how much our server could handle. We are doing our best to figure it out, and if you have trouble, you can email lisa@maczot.com.
Next buy time is at 3:13 p.m. PDT.
And there are 2 additional buy times after that.
Thanks!!!
April 13th, 2007 at 2:55 pm
@KilJoy I had it as a link in My Account when I logged in at the time of the deal.
April 13th, 2007 at 2:57 pm
Nothing like adding to the frustration that some got to place an order for more than one while many got nothing. Yes, I know the server load wouldn’t change but it doesn’t change the bitterness.
April 13th, 2007 at 2:58 pm
What’s the deal? I’m logged in, the timer is running, there is NO buy button. I’ve tried Safari and FireFox in case it’s a brower issue, but no luck ever. Plus this site is extremely difficult to even log-in to today!
April 13th, 2007 at 3:00 pm
Thanks “thoughtstart”, I don’t have such a link in mine, unlucky I guess.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:00 pm
Well after seeing what a disaster the first time was, and since I have every single app that is listed already going to pass on this whole thing.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:00 pm
The buy button will be available again at 3:13 p.m. PDT.
This will be the 2nd buy period.
You guys, we are practically giving you $300+ worth of Mac apps. We know you want them, but this is not a regular ZOT. There is a catch here, and that is, we have a short buying window.
We are doing everything we can to keep our server up, and lots of people are gettiing through.
Please be patient and try again.
We aren’t trying to screw with you. This is an AMAZING deal!!! Thanks to all the developers! They are the ones who rock!
April 13th, 2007 at 3:02 pm
My name shows me logged in on every page but the main, which always asks me to log in again, very frustrating to say the least.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:04 pm
The new buy page will go up soon. Stand by!
April 13th, 2007 at 3:08 pm
I just ordered and it’s not 3:13 PDT and got my confirmation from PayPal, since Paypal took my money, I’m guessing it’s live now.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:13 pm
I bought the bundle as well. How do we specifiy the emails and names for gifts? I never saw anything that let me. Email us. Thanks MacZOT!
April 13th, 2007 at 3:14 pm
I think they use the data you provided in your account settings.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:15 pm
Finally got in for “Round Two,” and actually at 3:10 PDT… before it was technically even supposed to start.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:17 pm
Got in this time. Yay!
April 13th, 2007 at 3:18 pm
Ah, much smoother this time, despite the fact that the countdown still said there was over an hour left before I reloaded the page and got the Buy It Now link.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:19 pm
mine’s been spinning on the page that says “Confirm Order and Make Payment – Round Two – Registrations will be created for the following recipients:” for 4 minutes now.
I guess that means I didn’t get it again?
April 13th, 2007 at 3:22 pm
Whee! I got in! Of course during it my paypal session expired for some reason. It shows up in my account though so I should be good.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:24 pm
I suspect this is a very demented social experiment being conducted by MacZot. The denial of those in the 1st round created a stronger need to succeed in the 2nd round, possibly even prompting them to purchase more than 1 bundle to compensate for their earlier loss. THIS IS MARKETING GENIUS!!!
April 13th, 2007 at 3:26 pm
dimebag2, Uh, sure.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:26 pm
I have to admit… I was surprised that round 2 wasn’t a repeat. Did anyone not get in this time that didn’t actually miss the window?
April 13th, 2007 at 3:28 pm
So, I’m assuming that due to the server issues and the amount of interest, there are some problems with the system getting confirmations out to people? I have my PayPal confirmation, but no MacZot confirmation. I completely understand if it takes a day or so to sort it all out, I just want to be sure that it won’t become an issue.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:28 pm
This time it was pretty easy to get in for me at least so I’d guess quite a few others made it in.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:30 pm
JClark , check in your account. Mine shows up in there. No keys or anything but the record is there for Round 2.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:35 pm
Mine didn’t go through but for once, I did something “smart:” when it started to seem like it was going to behave badly again (it was loading slowly, etc), I copied the URL that was redirecting me from the “buy” page to the “pay” page. When it decided it wasn’t going to go from the “pay” page to PayPal after continuing, I tried the URL I’d copied and was able to purchase the ZOT after the window had closed.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:37 pm
For some reason I was able to get a 2 for one deal….
April 13th, 2007 at 3:37 pm
got it! finally ;)
April 13th, 2007 at 3:40 pm
Same here, though the order shows up under My Order History as Techslacker mentioned.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:49 pm
I don’t even have that, which is why I’m concerned.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:49 pm
I couldn’t even get to Maczot. The browser just hung saying it couldn’t connect to the Maczot server. This second time was worse than the first for me. At least the first time I could actually be on the Maczot website but didn’t get a buy button. This time no website at all. I can understand if I missed it by a few minutes but I’ve been trying for hours now to even get a steady connection to the site.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:50 pm
Damn. I was just able to connect to the server now, so I’ve missed on 2 opportunities. Someone doesn’t want me to get this for my birthday! :-(
Seems like others didn’t have issues with reaching the server?
April 13th, 2007 at 3:52 pm
So I logged in to my acct at exactly 3:13 and no buy button. Reloaded ok for 3 minutes with no buy button. That was the last time I was able to reload my acct after over 40 minutes of trying every 10 seconds.
April 13th, 2007 at 3:59 pm
The next BUY time is at 6:13 p.m. PDT.
If you continue to have issues, please email lisa@maczot.com.
Remember, you only have 3 minutes.
April 13th, 2007 at 4:00 pm
Great Zot! and hats off to Brian and Lisa and the developers for making an interesting Friday the 13th experience. I had rpoblems the first time through like some of the rest of you but immediately sat down and sent an e-mail detailing the experience and no more problems. Give ‘em a break dudes!
April 13th, 2007 at 4:03 pm
I’m with you there macmac . . . exactly the same here , and I’m on GMT meaning the next one will be like 2am . . .
April 13th, 2007 at 4:03 pm
What ? For me, servers were still down at 3:13 !
Here in France I have to wait ’til 2:13 AM for tehe third window !
And I was waiting since 12PM here (so 3AM for U in California) !
If I’m unable to get one at third time, could somebody who have a extra bundle sell it to me ?
April 13th, 2007 at 4:04 pm
Johnny and Arcank – contact lisa@maczot.com
April 13th, 2007 at 4:06 pm
First window: server completely dead.
Second window: didn’t even know when it was, as I’d been unable to get any sense out of the server for so long I gave up trying to find out.
Third window: 2:13 am UK time. Like I’m going to be around for that one.
Fourth window: the way things are going, probably about 5:13 am UK time.
Starting at 13:13 is very cute, but why couldn’t you have done the four windows as something like 13:13 Pacific, 13:13 Eastern, 13:13 European and 13:13 Australian? That way EVERYBODY gets a shot without having to stay up all night.
I don’t think I’ll be bothering with macZOT in the future if this is the level of support for European customers — the only sensibly timed window had the server die. How about allowing European customers to purchase anyway?
Incidentally, is postmaster@maczot.com accepting mail, or should I resend to lisa@maczot.com?
April 13th, 2007 at 4:09 pm
(I’m guessing the message above my last one means we might be able to — typical that it should appear while I was typing :)
April 13th, 2007 at 4:20 pm
@TinyClanger: I’m okay with you. Maybe this could be a good idea for a next offer.
I’m in the same case. Waiting for the 2AM window :-p (France)
Good luck !
April 13th, 2007 at 4:22 pm
I give up, all I ever get is server not connected on the first and second round. In fact the page came up only for a short time warning of the 2nd round and then it quit responding until well after it was over. I saw the comments on the Twitter post and one of the guys says you had to be logged in, go to My Accounts and a Buy link will show up. I don’t understand that when I log in it takes me to My Accounts and then when I go back to the Today (Home) page it logs me back out, so I can’t stay logged in and watch the timer, plus it seems a bit confusing not to have the buy button on the Today page rather than hide it in the My Accounts section. Of course that does me no good as I can’t ever get the server to respond to even load the MacZot site.
April 13th, 2007 at 4:23 pm
If anyone doesn’t want their RapidWeaver license, you are more than welcome to give it to lil ol’ me. =)
I’ve been having quite the difficult time accessing macZOT! during the past two windows. Hopefully 6:13pm will do me right. Oh dear God I hope so..
April 13th, 2007 at 4:25 pm
I’m ok with Paypal and Order History confirmation but still no serial numbers (I did it on round one.)
Anybody got the serial numbers?
April 13th, 2007 at 4:26 pm
arcank – it’s actually a 3am window we’re waiting for. Yawn!
What TinyClanger said. (Except that the email *I* sent went to support@maczot.com)
April 13th, 2007 at 4:44 pm
Serial numbers will be sent out over the weekend. The developers will be busy.
Please be patient!
JP – send to lisa@maczot.com
Chris – 6:13 p.m. PDT – It’s coming up soon!
April 13th, 2007 at 4:55 pm
Ok, thank you.
April 13th, 2007 at 5:06 pm
Europeans – email lisa@maczot.com.
April 13th, 2007 at 5:19 pm
Thanks! :-)
April 13th, 2007 at 5:53 pm
So I have a paypal receipt but the order hasn’t shown up in my account yet. No emails either. And I got in on round one too. Should I be worried?
April 13th, 2007 at 6:16 pm
Missed round 1…
Had a problem with PayPal in round 2…
But… Round 3 worked like a charm…
Thanks
April 13th, 2007 at 6:17 pm
No problem this time!
Thanks zot for getting the server fixed.
April 13th, 2007 at 6:18 pm
Thanks! Made it right in, no problems.
Excited to see what the other 7 apps are.
April 13th, 2007 at 6:22 pm
The paypal transaction completed and I received a receipt but I didn’t get anything from Maczot.
No email or anything showing up in my account.
Did it go through?
April 13th, 2007 at 6:23 pm
Got mine! Bought the packae twice. Wanted to gift one but did not see a way to do that. Hopefully I will get two sets and can gift one otherwise I have two when I only need one. Still it will help the developers.
Peace.
April 13th, 2007 at 6:26 pm
chris_a did you get it? If not, if you leave your email, we could work something out. I actually already have RapidWeaver. It’s a great program.
April 13th, 2007 at 6:28 pm
I already have six of these . . . but I’m getting it anyway! How can these guys do this? What a steal. Each of these programs is worth much more than $1 each. Even if you have 12 of the 13, you can’t not buy this! I talked to a friend of mine and he’s joining in too. Thanks Zotologiests! I vote for more types of things like this . . . and don’t be discouraged by those who can’t read.
April 13th, 2007 at 6:35 pm
I bought two with the hope of being able to gift.
Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be an option to do so in the ‘My Orders’ page. Anyone know how to do it?
April 13th, 2007 at 6:42 pm
I was able to get in on the 3rd round. Thanx ZOT. I suspect that all of the whiners are the same folks that got a busy signal for front row tickets to the new Police tour the first day it was announced. That the server crashed, that there is so much interest, that you are having a hard time getting something for nothing is a testament to the success of the ZOT. Yes, we Zotgiest types should have some privledge, but for this deal it is reasonable to scramble a bit. I actually have paid for 3 or 4 of these at MacZot already, but couldn’t turn down such a deal. For the rest of you who have bad mouthed the process, I would remind you that these products are available for purchase 24/7/365 at the developers web sites (for full price).
April 13th, 2007 at 6:43 pm
Received my MacZOT confirmation a little while ago.
April 13th, 2007 at 7:08 pm
It’s all a little confusing, but I think I did it right. As for iWorkout. I’m in Australia, land of bandwidth fascism. Does the demo version of iWorkout have everything, or should I wait for a special download link for the full version?
April 13th, 2007 at 7:12 pm
I emailed MacZot with my paypal info and they fixed my order. Thanks MacZot. This is a great deal. For this price it is, in my opinion, crazy to pass up the deal.
April 13th, 2007 at 7:19 pm
So I waited around like a good little zot-buyer and logged on at 1:13CST to find the site smacked. No shot at purchase for me. Finally get home tonight and eager to try again to find 23:56 PDT my next shot. Ouch. Can’t make that late at night.
If only I was better at Applescripting…
April 13th, 2007 at 7:39 pm
wait a sec, was I supposed to recieve an email confirmation of my order?
April 13th, 2007 at 7:42 pm
Thanks, Zot, for the great deal and the great entertainment.
This reminds me of Ticketmaster back in the day when people suddenly realized you could buy tickets online, but their servers couldn’t handle the load. Shows would sell out in a matter of minutes (I’m referring to Phish circa 97) and it was a matter of pure luck if you could get through.
A note to everyone out there who has been b!tching all day…. RELAX!
I applaud the Zotsters for an excellent idea in experimental marketing. We always want what we can’t get, right?
And the amount of people who have no idea how clocks and timezones work, and can’t read the directions in the first place…. if you can’t find the humor in that, you should just go buy your software at full price.
Thanks!
April 13th, 2007 at 8:25 pm
Oh come on ZOT! I’ve always got log in problems with your site and couldn’t get any of the earlier buys so now I get to wait up until 2am CST! My son has the early baseball game tomorrow I don’t want to be up at 2am! Open it up and let me buy already ;)
By the way, the ZOTgeist email this morning was really confusing! I bet I spent 13 minutes just trying to figure out that I couldn’t buy anything yet when I got my log in to work!
April 13th, 2007 at 8:34 pm
This is awesome. I can’t wait until the serials come so i can finish downloading the software….
April 13th, 2007 at 8:50 pm
Hey there,
I finally got thru on round 2 but I had an error with my order. This is just an FYI to let you know I’m sending an email. BTW, I have PayPal receipts and screenshots that say I bought in Round 2 but the records on MacZOT say Round 3. BTW that’s not the problem, just something weird I noticed…
April 13th, 2007 at 9:02 pm
Home Business Trio ’07 how do you download this one? It just takes me to a link
April 13th, 2007 at 9:08 pm
Ugh! This is unlucky for me. I bought more than half of these already!
April 13th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
Heck, I own most of the 13, but not a full license for 6 of them….I hope …
a) I’m awake
b) the servers don’t crash
when I spend $13 of my extremely tight budget.
I hope.
April 13th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
@Sean:
I guess that you need to download the three apps which make up the Home Business Trio individually … at least that’s what I assumed and did.
Maybe the license emails will have more info.
April 13th, 2007 at 9:13 pm
I e-mailed MacZot with my invoice ID (from the PayPal confirmation e-mail) and they fixed me right up. Now I just have to wait a bit for the serials. Dang it.
April 13th, 2007 at 9:17 pm
Mark S. -
I have all but 3, but I still bought a couple cause at that price you can’t loose… :)
Thanks again to all the developers for supplying us with all this great software.
Also thanks to the staff of macZOT who unfortunately I’m sure have a little less hair tonight due to the *huge* popularity of this deal.
I probably wouldn’t keep spending money here if if you didn’t work so hard…
You all rock !! :)
April 13th, 2007 at 10:45 pm
Finally got in. Thanks for the great job Brian & Lisa & ?. Hope you are going to get some rest :)
April 13th, 2007 at 10:51 pm
Hi All,
Yes, this offer will soon be over. We hope all of you who wanted it, got it! What a great deal! Special thanks to all the developers! Please support them, their updates, their other products, and spread the word about the apps you like!
Here is the deal:
The last buy time will be for a full 4 minutes just before midnight.
We hope most people are in bed and you will all make it in. I want to go to bed too. ;-)
It’s been a LONG and exciting day.
If you ordered, you will not get a confirmation from macZOT because we turned that off to hopefully not crash our server. So, if you have a PayPal receipt, you have the bundle(s) according to that.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Let’s give the developers some time with their families this weekend. You can download all the products and start using them. We hope to have them all out by Tuesday.
GIFTS: If you wanted to gift some of the products to others, please let us know ASAP. Send name and email address and your account info to lisa@maczot.com. I’ll start working on that tomorrow.
THANKS!!!! I hope you had a lucky day!
Lisa
April 13th, 2007 at 11:07 pm
Lisa . . . rocks!
April 13th, 2007 at 11:25 pm
yeah, Lisa’s been all over this page today…
Thanks again for the help. Hopefully plan ‘B’ will work and I don’t need plan ‘A’ …
We’ll see in 30 minutes :)
