WOW. Today has been incredible. The first BlogZOT!â„¢ was, without a doubt, a resounding success. We challenged you to blog up AppZapper and MacZOT to decrease the price for everyone — and you delivered! By 5:00pm AppZapper was completely free, and the AppZapper guys offered up 1,000 copies to give out. But we didn’t give out 1,000 copies.

We gave out 5,000. Five. Thousand. That’s $64,750 worth of AppZapper (regular price)

Thanks for everyone’s support and we hope you look forward to future BlogZOTs! If you didn’t get a free copy of AppZapper, don’t worry because there are a lot of great deals over the horizon.

Here’s a little coupon code for AppZapper that will shave a few bucks off the pricetag to let you buy it at $9.90. Go to http://appzapper.com hit redeem coupon and enter MACZOT.

Many people agree that AppZapper is one of the few apps that even paying full price feels like a great purchase.

Thanks for your interest in MacZOT and AppZapper’s latest version — 1.3 with QuickZapâ„¢

Stay tuned for more fun on MacZOT.com

Good stuff, but in future you should have a system where the people that ‘blogged it get a reserved download (could be presented to them via email with a remeed code linked to their MacZot account).

I blogged it, because I thought this was a really cool thing to do, and a great way of raising awareness of both your site and the Utility. So kudos to you.

Just a bit dissapointed that because I couldn’t be by my computer at release (Time Zone differences) I missed out, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

So concider for the next one allowing bloggers a reserved download at whatever price you get it driven down to – else people will not bother blogging it and just wait for others to so they can downloads it on the cheap.

All in all, great experiment and use of ‘the blogosphere’. Your Google ranking must have sky rocketed.

    My $0.02

    Reply to Anonymous,
I will be willing to bet that you are using Safari web browser. If you are then the reason you were unable to see the link is because safari is really bad at refreshing a page right when someone posts something new to a site. I know from personal website building that it can take a long time for safari to refresh right even if you empty the cache and clear the history. I have emailed apple about it, but no fix. I find myself using firefox more and more just to make sure the page is the current updated page. Hopefully this would help

Awww, poor Anonymous.. He/she is right, though, they should be compensated for the seconds of toil it must have been to put a link on their site. It’s just not fair.

  10. Should I Zot or Should I Not? Says:

[...] macZOT is a very interesting phenomenon. The site offers an incredible deal on a different piece of Mac software each day. Earlier this week they conducted a really interesting experiment they called BlogZOT, where the price for the daily ZOT (it was AppZapper) was dropped by 5 cents for each trackback. In other words, the more people blogged about it, the cheaper it got. Until finally, it was free! [...]

[...] Just a Taste Next up, the pre-order. This is where the controversy, hype, and perplexion all began. With events such as BlogZOT and other crazy marketing stunts, we tried to get people using AppZapper in some pretty innovative ways. Disco was the next big challenge and we knew there were a lot of satisfied AppZapper users out there. What better than to say that the guys behind AppZapper are putting out a new app, and you can invest in its development and future by pre-ordering a copy for what will ultimately be a fraction of the retail price. One weekend, two thousands copies later, it became clear that people wanted to see more of the AppZapper formula. [...]
