Is there anybody who uses Pagico and can compare to similar apps like Contactizer Pro and Process? I got those with bundles but decided not to use them. Pagico seems rather appealing, and if it does what it says the ZOT price seems okay too.
I downloaded the trial but will not have time to test before late evening. Therefore your experiences are welcome!

Pagico was on MacZot! in December 2008, and a number of issues were raised. The developerresponded to all of them, which is a nice thing. I myself, however, will not try it again. You can view that discussion here:

I just browesd over the 2008 comments. It is always good to see a developer on MacZot interacting with the potential customer. I will wait for some more comments before considering. I am currently evaluating Things and wonder if anyone has a quick comparison between Things and the current offering.
One other item. I see that the additional license is still$5. There are some developers who allow you to use their app on your other while others restrict to just one machine. This is still a cheaper way to go than having to buy a second license. However, it appears that this was a big concern back in 08 and was never changed. Will wait on some more comments from current or former users. Thankfully, this is a 2 day Zot so we should get a lot of feedback.

Hey guys,
This is Ryo here from Pagico Software. I’ll be monitoring this comment area and happy to answer questions!
Thanks!

I’ve been using pagico for about two months now, and I’m loving it. Compared with Things, the biggest highlight is that pagico manages not just tasks but also related resources, which is really a handy thing.
Also I’m using the dropbox solution to sync the database on my two computers (a Mac and a PC). It’s fairly easy to do, and it works surprisingly well on the PC too.
On the machine-licensing side, I’m not in favor of it. But hey, 5 bucks for an additional machine isn’t a bad deal either.

Ryo has been very responsive so far. Apps like this are my crack. I’ve own and have attempted to use; OmniFocus, Contactizer, Bento 3, SohoNotes, DevonThink, Thinking Rock, and others I’ve probably forgot.
I manage several different projects by myself and don’t really have to collaborate. Project software is probably more than I need.
I have some issues with iCal and Address Book. Are changes I make in Pagico reflected in iCal and Address Book? I know that Pagico makes a calendar in iCal, but it appears it is a one way link. What experience have people had?
I like the visual aspect of Pagico, but am not certain that warrants the $30 addition to my library.
January 9th, 2010 at 11:26 am
@Mark,
Unfortunately changes made in Pagico are not synced back to your Address book. Also yes, you are right the iCal link is a one way sync.
And for you, I do believe that Pagico will help you a lot on your project planning, as it manages both resources and todos together and it will help you stay on track.
Let me know if you have questions, and I’m also eager to know how Pagico works for you.
Thanks!

Ryo, thanks for responding to questions here.
One thing I could not find out from the Pagico webpage is how to sync with Address Book.
E.g. I enter a contact in Pagico and don’t want to have to do it again in Address Book (and the other way around). Since you say Pagico saves one from using multiple applications to manage work, and since being able to sync contacts and ToDos/calender with the iPhone is crucial for me, I consider these essential features.
I saw that I can drag single contacts into Pagico. What about hundreds of contacts?
Ryo, you already said that the sync with iCal is one way – so there’s no way how an event I’d enter on the iPhone can be synced with Pagico?
Do you have plans to implement this?

Hi all,
As I’ve been asked several times, it seems that european users might have difficulties in downloading the files (network related), so here are the links to files hosted on a different server. Hope this helps!

@wolf,
Thanks for the great question. Yes, we do have plans to create the iPhone / Mobile app that will directly sync with Pagico. If you have read our article about the upcoming Pagico v4.2, you probably know that we’re rolling out a series of cloud-based sync features. Once this part is done (that means when it’s publicly tested and the structure is finalized and reliable), we’ll move on to making mobile clients based on the same technology.
We could have built the iPhone app a long time ago, just like other respected competitors. But that’s not an ideal choice to us, since our philosophy is to build features that are flexible enough so that they can be adaptive to users as much as possible. A feature with only one functionality is not our direction.
So now, with the new Channels functionality, we can easily expand it into mobile devices without adding new screens or features, which is a win-win for both us and users.
I hope this long explanation works for you guys. ;-)
Thanks,
Ryo

My only other concerns is the lack of syncing between computers. It would be nice to have the option of being able to sync between computers. I am going to try something an see if it works, I’ll report back.
January 9th, 2010 at 1:13 pm
Hey Mark,
For syncing among computers, we have a tutorial for that:

Not sure if you’ve seen this before or not. :-)

@Ryo,
thanks for your reply. sounds good.
What is still unclear to me: What about the syncing with Address Book and iCal both ways on the same Mac Pagico runs?
January 9th, 2010 at 1:46 pm
Hey wolf,
Yep, we are working on implementing a Address Book sync, but we still yet to find a perfect solution since we also want to use technologies that are cross-platform capable. Before that happens, we might implement a vCard format export that at least it can save you some time.
As of iCal sync, we’re planning to implement cloud-based sync with Google Calendar (and similar services) to achieve this, instead of just focusing on the iCal on Mac OS X.
Hope this makes some sense to you. :-)

Hi, it looks good! However, I’ve just purchased a copy of Pagico, but there didn’t seem to be a way to purchase additional $5 licenses via MacZot – how can I do that? Will a link show up with my serial email?
January 9th, 2010 at 5:27 pm
Hey Kathleen,
The additional license can be purchased via here:
http://www.pagico.com/purchase/
Scroll down to the additional license section.
Your additional licenses will be created and emailed to you *after* the ZOT is over (that’s when we create the licenses for all the ZOT purchases).
Hope that helps. :)

I was trying to get it to work with my MobileMe account and wasn’t successful. Thank you for the sync solution with DropBox, but MobileMe should be supported also. Other project and GTD solutions out there use MobileMe, even QuickBooks for Mac.
While DropBox isn’t a deal breaker, it doesn’t make it harder to justify. Fortunately, I have another day to try.
January 10th, 2010 at 8:15 am
@Mark,
Although there’s no feature in Pagico that’s specifically built to use MobileMe to sync, you should be able to do it in the same fashion — just place your Pagico database into your MobileMe shared drive and that *should* just work.
So what issues are you experiencing? Let me know so I can see if there’s anything wrong. :)

Hey all,
Just wanted to let you know that after spending a ridiculously quiet afternoon, I realized that our email server was down and I am not sure for how long. So if any of you have been trying to get in touch with us via email, please comment in this post. I’ll be monitoring this page and answer questions as quickly as I can. And at the mean time we’re contacting the service provider to fix issues.
Thanks,
Ryo

Ryo, on the strength of your customer service, I’m in. I’m going to purchase the zot. I appreciate your efforts and believe that is what makes good software. I had some issues with working from MobileMe, but maybe in future editions, it can be resolved.
January 10th, 2010 at 7:14 pm
Hey Mark,
Many thanks for your business. May I know what are the issues that you’re experiencing with MobileMe? I’m curious and willing to fix it because It *should* work out of the box.
Thanks!
