I bought this MysteryZot. It’s my first Zot. I’m a little disappointed, honestly. There is no app here that I really want. Everyone has AppZapper of course, that includes me. I’ll try Soulver and play with World of Where. I don’t know anything about PHP! Don’t know how I will use that thing.
July 18th, 2006 at 12:15 am
Ditto.
My first and likely last.
July 18th, 2006 at 12:16 am
I don’t know why Bryan included that PHP thing… Well I am sure there will be some people out there that will know what it is and use it… :)
July 18th, 2006 at 12:25 am
Candy,
I am sorry to hear that!! It stinks that some of these programs are not useful for you. But if you want, you can join our forum, and team up with a couple of us who are going to be exchanging duplicate apps and more. (cick on my name for the forum)
Also, I visited your site, and noticed that it said your location was Hong Kong. I was in Fuzio (I think that is spelled right) and Beiijing. I wish I would have stopped in Honk Kong. :(

July 18th, 2006 at 12:25 am
i’m a little disappointed too. most of those apps were recently featured and I decided to pass on them then.
$5 is still a good deal for all of those, and I’ll appreciate having the licenses.
It’s the “mystery” aspect of this that has made things a little “blah.”
July 18th, 2006 at 12:26 am
For me, this one was a waste of $5. This was my third MysteryZot and the dupes mean I’m not doing another MysteryZot now unless MacZot specify that there are no repeats.
Still, if you’re a mathematician working on a PHP web site for a global company that produces podcasts about evaluating Mac software – you’re in business!
July 18th, 2006 at 12:28 am
Danny – great idea!
July 18th, 2006 at 12:32 am
Bah, I already have all 5 of these – would’ve been nice if at least one wasn’t a repeat.
July 18th, 2006 at 12:36 am
I’m happy.
No dupes and a couple I really like (Cast & PHP), one that was inevitable to be purchased here (AppZapper), one I have no idea what I’ll use for (Soulver), and one that I would never purchase but I think is incredibly cool to own (World of Where).
Easily worth $5.
July 18th, 2006 at 12:54 am
While I don’t necessarily need all these apps, I loved the whole mystery aspect.
C’mon, here’s the summary:
1. 5 applications for $5
2. You went into knowing it was a mystery
3. Some people still have to have their complaints heard.
Would you folks try this? Write your minor complaint about how you didn’t get the item you hoped for. Then, delete it without submitting. You’re not making friends by filling up my RSS feed with your comments.
July 18th, 2006 at 1:05 am
Your right Cindy!
We all came to this site… pulled $5 bucks out of our piggy bank and gave it to MacZot. Many of us already knew about some of the appz that would be given away (AppZapper :)).
I already have all these apps, but I am not complaining. Instead, I posted my apps, and hope to exchange it with someone who needs it.
Danny
July 18th, 2006 at 1:11 am
Let’s see…
PHPStudio? Haven’t the time and .mac doesn’t support php (or so I’m told)
CastLife? From an earlier mystery, and under a different name.
AppZapper? Need I say more?
Soulver? Almost got it when it was zotted before. So I have a $13 app for $5
WoW? On an earlier mystery and owned.
Slightly disappointed, I must say. 1 out of 5 for me.
Still, the fun factor is there! I paid more than this for a fairground ride with my (2 year old daughter) – and this ride lasted 5 days!
Now over to mac-headz to swap some serials!!!!!
July 18th, 2006 at 1:30 am
Um, I didn’t get my serials. Any idea why?
July 18th, 2006 at 1:32 am
This was my first Zot, and I’m really happy with it.
I recently bought a Mac and I didn’t own any of this apps.
I’m happy especially with AppZapper! :-P
July 18th, 2006 at 2:48 am
“Consider the apps you don’t need to be subsidized by the people who needed that one and not the others.”
not realy true, because the app makers join voluntarily.
the makers hope publicity will help future sales.
every blog writting about MacZot and offerings is an advertisement and better placement in search engines.
July 18th, 2006 at 2:57 am
I’m a little disappointed too. I know $5 isn’t much, but they are all repeats. I was hoping for something I would use.
July 18th, 2006 at 3:12 am
Come on, kids! It’s five bucks! Everyone knew it wouldn’t be Photoshop or Office. You got 70 bucks of apps for 5 bucks. You knew there was a possibility you didn’t need them.
Me, I’m only interested in PHP Studio, which I already own, but I’m not complaining. I’m going to play with the other apps, maybe I’ll find something I like, maybe not, but I knew that when I shelled out the five bucks.
July 18th, 2006 at 3:13 am
hey, i got AppZapper for five bucks.
gonna give my PHPStudio serial to a friend, if possible, since i already have one. not gonna use the other stuff. just registered at Mac-Headz too…thanks Danny for the info.
July 18th, 2006 at 3:17 am
I’m happy, since all the app are new to me. However, I’m not going to use PHPStudio.
So… when is the next MysteryZot? I’d love to see backup app on it.

July 18th, 2006 at 3:43 am
im new to maczot. and i bought these items, does anyone know when i will be getting the serials to the programs?
when i click on my account it says
”MyzteryZOT 5
Status : Pending”
is this what everyone else should is seeing?
July 18th, 2006 at 4:18 am
@quaa: same with me: pending…
July 18th, 2006 at 4:18 am
Quaa: Zot said they would get to it sometime today.
For me, this was worth it just for World of Where. I already own Soulver — what a great app! I wouldn’t have bought WoW at full price, but I DID want it. So if World of Worlds (the developer) got a few cents from me that they wouldn’t have otherwise, that’s cool.
And I think I was the only person on the planet who didn’t yet own AppZapper, so… well, now I’m not.
Honestly, I don’t even know what PHP is… so I will learn something too (not learn PHP, just learn what it is!). I won’t use this or CastLife, but… so what?!
So… $5? Heck, I spend more than that for lunch every day. This was very cool and fun. Thanks ZOT!
(Maybe ZOT should start Mac Zapper Overstock Television too!)
July 18th, 2006 at 4:24 am
Soulver looks pretty cool. I don’t understand AppZapper’s appeal; finding and removing preference files really isn’t that hard since there aren’t too many places they can hide. But I really shouldn’t be complaining because these all cost more than $5 by themselves, so I’ll just view it as getting a really good deal on Soulver.
OK fine I’ll admit it: I was sort of hoping for OmniWeb.
July 18th, 2006 at 4:31 am
I can’t wait to get the serials… This was my first MyzteryZot and it was so exciting, I really needed AppZapper and I got it. It was $6 Australian and the retail price was $96, I am not complaining at all!
When the next MyzteryZot comes out I am buying it straight away!
July 18th, 2006 at 4:59 am
Heck, 5 days ago I didn’t even know what MacZapper was. Color me happy, and perhaps a light shade of teal as well.
I would prefer some sort of vertical striping, horizontal stripes make me look fat.
July 18th, 2006 at 5:25 am
I wasn’t stunned by the MZ, but it’s only $5.
The MS plainly said “If you can afford $5. If not, you shouldn’t have bought in.
I have no use for PHP Studio or CastLife. I don’t know that I’ll be using AppZapper, as simple as tossing a Mac app already is. No way am I a mathematician but Soulver is worth a look.
That leaves me with WoWh, which I wouldn’t have bought, but looks like fun. No dupes, one or two potentially interesting apps.
I have done far, far worse with $5 that I’ll never see again, nor what ever it was that it was spent on.
I’ll try another.
July 18th, 2006 at 5:27 am
Just one question: I have bought the thing yesterday (first MacZOT so no i didn’t own anything and I’m really satisfied), and they talk about an order history, which I don’t have in my profile page.
Will it be there later today (or tomorrow) when the order will be downloadable? Do I need to do something to ensure everything is right?
Thanks guys. Contrary to many here, I won’t complain since it’s a 5/5 for me :)
July 18th, 2006 at 5:29 am
I have been wanting to learn PHP so this is cool and I hadn’y even heard of appzapper until I read these comments lol
July 18th, 2006 at 5:44 am
This is my first (paid) Zot and I am not disappointed at all. I’m really excited I have PHP Studio. I fiddled with the trial and I really wanted it, but didn’t want to shell out the $25 for it. The rest are pretty good, also. I don’t know what I’ll do with half of them, but knowing I have them is somewhat of a comfort. Better to have them (at a steal of a price) and never need them than to end up not having them if you do need them.
July 18th, 2006 at 5:48 am
I’m not complaining for $5, but you’d think that they could at least warn people in advance that ALL the apps were featured before. I own them all. Still, it’s OK since it helps to support the shareware authors.
July 18th, 2006 at 5:53 am
This was my first experience with MacZot and, Hey! I’m happy! I’ll use every single new app. I just added PHP capability to my server and have been using canned programs. Now we’ll see if I can write my own. The only problem I have with AppZapper is that I heard it was only compatible with OSX 10.4 and above and I’m still on 10.3.9. How about making the next MacZot a deal on Tiger for $5.00?
Thanks this is great!
July 18th, 2006 at 6:10 am
Well, this is the second thing I have purchased and the second thing I have not received. Currently writing a second email about DeskShade and mentioning that the MysteryZOT doesn’t show on my “Orders Placed” either. Joy.
July 18th, 2006 at 6:23 am
This was my first zot, and I enjoyed it. It’s a great deal on all of these apps, so that alone made it worth it. I’m probably the last remaining Mac user that doesn’t own AppZapper, and I DO know PHP, so I’ll at least have fun playing with PHP Studio. WoW looks like it could be fun for my kids. The others I’m not certain about, but you never know when something will come in handy. I’ll definitely visit regularly to see what else is offered.
I think the most interesting thing is that I’m usually pretty well up one any shareware that’s out there, but I’d never heard of or seen PHP Studio ot Soulver. Getting a chance to see some new stuff makes it fun. :)
July 18th, 2006 at 6:23 am
it was 5 bucks people, quit whining.
July 18th, 2006 at 6:26 am
What an utter waste of $5. The only useful thing is AppZapper, and I already own it. The rest is junk. No more MysteryZOTs for me.
July 18th, 2006 at 6:27 am
No disappointment here. $5 for a little fun and a little mystery. I’ve been following MacZot for about 3 months now and have purposely not bought AppZapper, knowing that it would come along in a bundle. I thought it might have ended up in the CollaboZot, but didn’t.
As for the others, I think a couple of them were participant developers during the CollaboZot.
With a 12 y.o. son, the WoW application can come in handy when he’s studying geography.
I did, however, get the PHPStudio about 3 weeks ago, since it was a great deal at the time. I guess that it will go up for trade.
Anyway, the way I see it, I got about $50 worth of apps for a mere $5. And, I’m giving even a little support for some small developers along the way.
July 18th, 2006 at 6:52 am
PHP Studio looked ok, already have app zapper, cast life might be cool. The others will probably not get used. But hey it was only $5, and I payed like $12 for app zapper. Will make a good gift or will use it on a new computer when I get one.
July 18th, 2006 at 7:04 am
Already have AppZapper, Cast Life and World Of Where. Soulver looks mildly interesting, as I’m taking a difficult math course this year.
But PHP Studio! Woohoo! Makes it worth much more than worth the 5 bucks for me. Thanks for not letting me down, MacZot!
July 18th, 2006 at 7:04 am
My first MysteryZot, and definitely not my last. I would’ve been happy even if I had gotten nothing I needed. $5 is cheap, the price of a lottery ticket or a happy meal. It goes to a great website that has provided great deals to Mac users. The mystery is part of the fun; if you don’t end up with something you love, then oh well, it’s just five dollars.
As it turns out, I’m ecstatic to get AppZapper, CastLife looks promising, and maybe I’ll get around to learning PHP now. I’m quite happy.
I think of it as buying those blind boxed figures and toys sold at comic book shops and other places: you never know what you’re going to get, but that’s part of the thrill. Sometimes you get a figure you’re not excited about, sometimes you get one you already have, and sometimes you get something incredible. If you’re not the type of person who likes this sort of thrill or taking chances, then MysteryZot might not be the type of thing you’d like to participate in.
July 18th, 2006 at 7:18 am
Still like the idea of a Mystery Zot even though I already
have two of these apps (CastLife and AppZapper).
I like 5 apps for 5 bucks.
I think I may skip the next one unless they state that there aren’t any repeat apps.
July 18th, 2006 at 7:29 am
This is my first Zot and I’m content with the mystery aspect (even though at times I tend to be ruthlessly stingy with my money). I’m excited about AppZapper because I didn’t have it and CastLife. I don’t know what I’ll use Soulver for (because I rarely do any time of math-related thing) or PHP but World of Where is up my alley. The only disappointment was I was looking for DockTop now that i’ve become addicted but I’ll shell out the $4!
Great Zot, had a lot of fun! I probably won’t do the myzteryZot again just cause of the repeats but I’ll definitely be around for everything else
July 18th, 2006 at 7:41 am
I’m happy!
July 18th, 2006 at 7:52 am
AppZapper alone made me happy! How can I get it? Haven’t received any email yet.
July 18th, 2006 at 7:52 am
C’mon friends, you all knew you could even have all of them. Why are you all complaining?
I dont need any podcast software nor any World Of Where, but PHP Studio is the best for me, and I never bought AppZapper knowing I would have done such a deal sometime!
I just wonder how I’m gonna get them. I looked in my profile but I found nothing, just a “pending” order…
July 18th, 2006 at 8:26 am
Just got my serials.
I must admit, I was bit surprised at how fast they sent them.
Apparently, many people jumped on this so I was expecting a completely understandable day or two delay.
Thanks ZOTters!
July 18th, 2006 at 8:31 am
I just received mine as well. Very cool.
July 18th, 2006 at 8:32 am
Just got my serials too. Very fast! Guess I don’t have to get to my order history after all :-)
July 18th, 2006 at 8:38 am
HEH another license for appzapper.
I now have one license per machine that I own!
July 18th, 2006 at 8:42 am
I think this was a great Zot. I missed Soulver earlier and was willing to pay the $5.00 just for it. I am glad I have it now.
As for the registration, I do have a problem with PHP Studio. The registration license I was sent does not fit in the registration dialogue PHP Studio provides. Urmp!
July 18th, 2006 at 8:42 am
Cool! I’m not prob. into doing much of this, but not having app zapper yet, doing some podcasting, and the capitals game make this worth $5 easily.
as a teacher- great deal..
July 18th, 2006 at 8:43 am
Yeah…the dups are really disappointing. I was expecting more from MacZOT! This is the second MysteryZot! I’ve gotten and I’ll be much less apt to just plunk down my $$ next time. Along with everyone else, I have AppZapper and the others are either useless to me (don’t do PHP) or trivial. Of course it is only $5 but what I got isn’t even worth that to me. :-(
July 18th, 2006 at 8:44 am
Not really my first choice for apps either…..already got Appzapper….but hey for $5 you cant really complain!
July 18th, 2006 at 8:48 am
I already own all of these, but it was only $5 so I’m not bothered.
/ If you’re looking for suggestions for future Zots, I’d like to see LittleSnitch, OmniOutliner and RapidWeaver.
July 18th, 2006 at 8:52 am
i am quite happy with those. I think I wouldn’t use all of them, but hey: 5 Bucks for 5 Programms – why the hell is anyone disapointed? ;)
July 18th, 2006 at 8:54 am
I agree with those who say you shouldn’t complain. It’s a $5.00 gamble, some people who play will win, some won’t. Although it is too bad that some of these apps were already on MacZot previously. That DOES seem a little unfair.
July 18th, 2006 at 8:56 am
Out of the five, I only have CastLife. Even then I only paid $3 or whatever it was — trivial. I’ll definitely be using PHP Studio for my many projects, and I came close to buying it when it was featured. Same with AppZapper. I wasn’t too excited about Soulver until I read about it; I see it coming in handy when college classes start back up. World of Where, whoa! I love geography, and this app even tests on the provinces of Norway! As a Norwegian enthusiast, this one has my vote.
Best $5 I’ve spent in a while.
July 18th, 2006 at 8:57 am
This is great, i really like these apps, i think this was a really GREAT!! DEAL
Thanks!
July 18th, 2006 at 9:02 am
First Zot. Didn’t have any of the apps. $5 well spent indeed.
July 18th, 2006 at 9:04 am
i’m very happy. i’m intrigued by all the apps and i don’t have a single one. thanks!
July 18th, 2006 at 9:11 am
Correction…..WoW is a nasty pointless app……Soulver I havent a clue what the point of it is….Castlife might be handy…..dunno about PHP thing yet……but AppZapper is handy for deletely WoW and Soulver!
Still $5 isn’t bad!
July 18th, 2006 at 9:12 am
Ditto on having LittleSnitch in a Zot!
July 18th, 2006 at 9:14 am
World of Where … What…
Despite registration mine is stuck on bits of Europe but not any bit I live in (Switzerland). Anyone else have this??
Yep only bought AppZapper a week ago so not so happy to get a dupe license ;-(
PHPStudio and Soulver of no use to me :-(
CastLife’’s site is down… seems over their bandwidth limit.
July 18th, 2006 at 9:14 am
I think that the “mystery” packages might be more successful it they were based on a common theme or function. I already own AppZapper and would not have ever purchased any of the other apps but, for five bucks, it was fun.
I’ll either trade some apps away or give them away elsewhere.
July 18th, 2006 at 9:18 am
Being a new zotter, I don’t yet have App Zapper, so that’s cool. The rest are pretty neat too, though I write php in Dreamweaver.
But really. FIVE BUCKS. In 1978 (I think) Steve Martin did a bit on his comedy album talking about the $3 or $4 cover charge for his show. His take was, “Oh, I’ve got $3 – think I’ll throw it in the street. Oh, you mean I can come in THERE for $3? OK”.
Well, adjusted for inflation that $3 is way more than the $5 we all just paid for the mystery Zot. So even if you didn’t get what you wanted, wasn’t the $5 worth the exciting roller coaster of wondering what you’d get, the witty back and forth on the boards, the excuse to complain publicly about the Zot? It sure beats throwing it in the street.
July 18th, 2006 at 9:25 am
I’ve emailed about this one before.
Would sure be appreciated if you could let us know if these apps are Universal or not. Some don’t work on the intel based machines…..
Still a good deal for $5.00 but would be nice if they all worked.
Cheers
John
July 18th, 2006 at 9:27 am
Darn,
I’m probably the only person who regularly follows MacZot that doesn’t own at least one copy of AppZapper. If anyone would like to donate a registration code, please think about me!
kcwookie@mac.com
PS: I do like Cast Easy!
July 18th, 2006 at 9:34 am
I’m happy to take a key code for PHPStudio from anyone who doens’t want it/won’t use it! :)
July 18th, 2006 at 9:36 am
My 1st ZOT and I’m excited with PHPStudio. Love W o W and I believe AppZapper and CastLife will come handy sometime. :D
July 18th, 2006 at 9:38 am
Excellent. This is my first macZOT purchase and am pleasantly surprised. I do all of my PHP and RSS coding by hand in a text editor so I’m looking forward to PHPStudio and CastLife.
While “everybody” may have AppZapper, I didn’t until now. Why would I need an unstaller for my Mac? It’s not a Windows machine. I’ll now play with it and see what it can do. :)
Not sure about Soulver, but my wife might like it. :D
World of Where looks like a lot of fun.
Thanks to all!
July 18th, 2006 at 9:40 am
I agree with most. This was my first and last Zot. I’ve got Appzapper & the rest are so boring that I’d rather spend a night in a wire factory. If you’re gonna dump dud apps in a bundle, at least make ONe of them fun/and/or relative.
July 18th, 2006 at 9:54 am
I’m happy!
July 18th, 2006 at 9:55 am
My first MysteryZot, and certainly not last. I am very pleased with PHP studio and AppZapper.
Although a no-repeat idea would be good :)
July 18th, 2006 at 9:55 am
Didn’t get my serials yet….
July 18th, 2006 at 10:03 am
I didn’t own any of these programs and am very thankful to have received them.
Thanks!
July 18th, 2006 at 10:06 am
I have tried to use the coupon for CastLife and it wants 5.83 UK Sterling and the Coupon is worth 5.82 UK Sterling. Can this be rectified please.
July 18th, 2006 at 10:13 am
Wow, this is great!!
1. We are giving MacZot more positive feedbacks here than negatives :)
2. There are lots of members on our forum that posted their duplicate software, or the ones that they will not be using.
I will wait a bit more for others to get their posts up. Then I will contact the developers to work something out for all of us.
Oh, and here is the link again:

July 18th, 2006 at 10:22 am
Got my serials too.
July 18th, 2006 at 10:25 am
For crying out loud, it was five bucks and it was fun.
I have no problem donating another 50 bucks just to encourage shareware writers.
July 18th, 2006 at 10:39 am
This was my first MacZot purchase ever. Of course, I misread the whole thing from the getgo and thought I was just buying the app for day five, figuring I’d be spending five bucks on a single application.
Granted, I’ll probably never use a few of them. AppZapper looks nice, though, and the PHPStudio could be nice down the road as I work on my pre-scripted website using WordPress, but the others? Eh.
You pays your money, you takes your chances.
Five bucks, people. Less than two gallons of gas. Half the price of an old DVD from a Wal-Mart cheapie bin. Less than the price of two comic books.
I think it was fun.
July 18th, 2006 at 10:59 am
Got my serials and only Appzapper made that mystZot a big deal, the other apps are just cool and stored here :) Thanks!!!
July 18th, 2006 at 11:02 am
How come I didn’t get my serials yet? :(
I tried emailing support but no response back.
July 18th, 2006 at 11:18 am
I had bought AppZapper earlier from here only, and CastLife, and World of Where was at the last MysteryZot. So, I’m dissapointed. When you do a MysteryZot, think about returning customers, won’t you?
July 18th, 2006 at 11:19 am
Anybody else having problems with CastLife? Every time I try to start it it “quits unexpectedly” (although it gets a little less unexpected each time). Other than that, I’m happy with everything else.
July 18th, 2006 at 11:28 am
I’m not seeing any serials in my order history, just my invoice. Is anyone else having this problem?
July 18th, 2006 at 11:37 am
Absolutely great!
Am I lucky? Maybe. 5 apps I didn’t own. 3 apps that I’ll actually enjoy using.
Waiting for the next… Oh, no dupes please!
July 18th, 2006 at 11:42 am
Is it normal for the serials to still be pending? I still don’t have them. :(
July 18th, 2006 at 11:44 am
To put in my two cents. I’m quite happy with this \MyzteryZot. Not that I would need any of the stuff or would have bought it in the first place, but I think it’s good value for money and good publicity for what I’m sure is great software. As expected we did get yet another AppZapper, but hey, some people still don’t have it. As mentioned in another post re. this MyzteryZot: it would be good if MacZot would at least indicate how many apps in a MyzteryZot where featured before on MacZot.
One quick note on the whole duplicate licenses aspect as some people, to be honest it was quite a few, have written to me asking for an AppZapper license: it is not legal according to most software agreements to transfer licenses, which is why I’m not doing it. Another reason is, that I don’t know any of you guys out there and for all I know some might be spreading my license to pirate boards or share the serial with the rest of the world… and all those serials are registered under my name and/or email address. So, I won’t be handing out any duplicates for concern about infringing any copyright and because I feel that good shareware should be supported. Increasing the potential of seeing a serial on a pirate board is not in my interest nor in the develoepers. AppZapper is worth its money… just don’t go to the movies or save on the Starbucks coffee.

Hello, I am quite satisfied with the 5$ myztery zot.. :)
However, I would like to exchange my serials for SOULVER, PHP Studio, and World of Where for a VOICE CANDY Serial. (more info on Voice Candy here : http://www.potionfactory.com/voicecandy/ )
These 3 softwares totals 49,9USD worth of License. So if you want to make a great deal, buy me Voice Candy (or some other Sound recording app)

I am not happy at all with it, reason being, I bought PHPStudio here not a few days ago, and I think i bought AppZapper here as well not positive on that one though. It’s becoming silly to deal with macZot and go through so many problems.
I think that more research needs to go into each bit of software and make sure you aren’t getting duplicate products they just sold so recently. No offense Brian i’m sure you work your butt off on this, just my 2 cents.Â
And gryphonent that is a rediculous statement, Appzapper is indeed worth purchasing it one time… but multiple times? I think not, i’ve used it twice since i bought it. Not saying it’s not worth that twice though as i’m sure i’ll use it in the future.

*reads a few complaints*
It’s $5. You didn’t know what you were getting. When you gamble, you risk losing.
As I have NONE of these already, this is ideal for me. $5 isn’t something I’d pass up, and I have a use for all these except WoW. Especially the PHP app. That was the first thing I saw, and IMMEDIATELY thought “worth every penny”. All the others are bonuses, that one app made the deal for me :)
Now, a question for Zot itself: out of curiosity, how many of these were sold? I’d love a Woot.com-like “products sold” counter, even if only at the end of each Zot. Interesting-yet-useless statistics make my day :D
July 18th, 2006 at 1:10 pm
Absolutely happy with this. MacZot were clear about duplicates and it’s great, great value at 5 bucks.
I am thrilled with AppZapper and Soulver and my son will like WoW. I have no use for PHP app but surely some will and maybe I’ll have a use for Castlife but not now…
But hey, five bucks, a latte and a danish can cost more. Well worth the risk.
July 18th, 2006 at 1:10 pm
Can’t understand most of the complaints, too, apart from the fact that these apps has been presented here before, if I understand that right. I am new to this thing and spent the $5 and I think it’s good value for the money, even if none of these apps is “really” necessary. But complaining about getting other apps than you expected is a bit unfair, don’t you think?
July 18th, 2006 at 1:35 pm
I have not received my serials yet. When I log into my account and check my order status all I get is that I have placed an order. I have an order number and everything but no serials….
Is it an automated system that places serials with people who have ordered? If so, mine should be there, I think. If not, any idea when I might get mine?
On another topic, I have sent two emails to the support email adress in the past few days and have not received any reply, I am starting to feel ripped off…

GREAT DEAL! OK, so those of you who have been ‘zotters a long time may have been disappointed, but I just discovered the site the day before the MysteryZot went up. And I had been wanting AppZapper, so I’m a very happy camper, and I’m sure there are other zot-newbies like me.
Definitely no reason for me to complain! And those who did whine a bit…as they say in Vegas, don’t gamble whatcha aren’t willing to lose. (Well, never having been to Vegas, I guess I just assume that’s good advice there!)
July 18th, 2006 at 1:38 pm
No disappointment here, and thankful for the opportunity.
July 18th, 2006 at 1:39 pm
Hi,
great my first maczot and appzappper for $5. that’s nice. but at some point. sth got wrong. my name includes such a rare character like an umlaut :) and it got messed up it is an accent circonflexe ^ now. Maybe it could get fixed in the future.
And maybe it is possible to give an alternative e-mailadress? i do not wanna give my paypal adresse for registration informations.
July 18th, 2006 at 1:42 pm
Just thought I’d add my two cents…
I’m a complete MacZOT newbie, just stumbled on the site the day this MysteryZOT went up. I had no idea what I ws getting into, but for 5 bucks, I figured what the heck.
And as it turns out, this is pretty darned cool. The PHP app, in particular, grabbed my interest as I’m just getting ready to completely overhaul my site, and anything that makes coding easier is fine by me! And apparently AppZapper is a must-have (yes, I live under a rock…).
All in all, I just wanted to say how pleased I am and how great it is to have found a community of app-loving Macophiles! Peace.
July 18th, 2006 at 1:44 pm
this was my first mystery zot and I’m glad I did it, :) Great apps for 5 bucks
July 18th, 2006 at 2:17 pm
my order status still says pending.. ?
July 18th, 2006 at 2:19 pm
Well, I threw my five bucks into the pool. However, I’m not particularly disappointed, I had 3 of the 5 (due to an earlier mystery zot). Fortunately for me, I have a friend just getting into a Mac, and he needs some apps, and so he did :)
July 18th, 2006 at 2:43 pm
2 Apps made me very happy:
AppZapper
Castlife
I will use all 5 :)
July 18th, 2006 at 3:08 pm
I sent this to Support as well… Just thought I’d throw it up here if anyone had any idea.
“Hi there, I got in on your Mystery Zot that you just did, and I was just about to go register CastLife so that I could use it but it seems that MeddleCatSoftware’s website has exceeded its monthly traffic quota.
Any idea when their site will be back up so that I can register? If we have to wait until next month, that’s almost two weeks! And I wanted to get casting… ;-)”
I guess this Mystery Zot drove a lot of traffic in MeddleCatSoftware’s direction!
I didn’t have any of the five, so I’m pretty excited all in all. I do the occasional PHP development, Soulver seems interesting (Though I wish it was a widget!), AppZapper is wonderful, and CastLife seems like it will be useful once I get a chance to try it out. I’m going to try filecasting to keep team members on a project up to date on things.
WorldOfWhere, I’m kinda meh on, but I have never been a real geography buff. Regardless, I think it was $5 well spent!
July 18th, 2006 at 3:29 pm
They’re all pretty cool and since I’m a new convert and had none of them, they’re all welcome.
Only problem is that Soulver’s code isn’t working for me. I don’t know if their algorithm is choking in my two word last name. Hopefully the support staff will be able to help (I’ve already e-mailed them).
July 18th, 2006 at 3:45 pm
My order status is blank. I’ve been charged the $5.00 but I haven’t received my codes.
July 18th, 2006 at 3:46 pm
Did anyone notice that the website for Castlife, is offline, thus making it impossible to register the software? Please advise!!!
July 18th, 2006 at 3:49 pm
nevermind started working… :)
July 18th, 2006 at 4:36 pm
Can anyone else not get cast life??? The site seems to not be working..
July 18th, 2006 at 5:16 pm
gryphonent,
You may be right! But I don’t really agree with everything.
Yes, the developer deserves money! And I think that giving the app to someone who needs what that software provides gives the developer a better advertiser than someone who does not need it at all.
I will be talking to the developers to get approval for software exchange or better (and publicity). Oh, and as far as seeing serials on pirated boards… I really wouldn’t worry about that. True pirates have different ways of getting what they need… spreading serials like this would classify one as a “Pirate Wanna Be” and you would be asked to leave the pirate industry (from pirates themselves). I know this beacuse I use to work for an organization that caught big boy pirates and …well I can’t say anymore.

Aww quit the crying folks! Its only 5 bucks! You spend that much on a couple of beer or a lotto ticket. Hey a mystery is a gamble… If you don’t have money to play with then don’t play with your money.
For me my first Myztery Zot was $15 and I was really disappointed, but this was $5 and I got 2-3 apps I can really use. For instance I didn’t have AppZapper and now I do, which I am pleased to punch about.
July 18th, 2006 at 5:46 pm
I second the request for Woot-like statistics. It would be interesting to see when the most sales occur, whether veterans are purchasing, if the product is attracting new purchasers, etc.
July 18th, 2006 at 6:03 pm
There are one or two programs in this mysteryzot that I would never have considered buying. Which is why I like getting them for $5. I get to try something new and the fact you don’t know what you’re going to get is a lot of fun!
July 18th, 2006 at 6:42 pm
I’m upset that MacZot is big on AppZapper but besides this it wasn’t that bad Soulver and PHPStudio are awesome especially cause I didn’t already have PHPStudio, World of Where I owned twice but its still nice for fun, and CastLife I may use at sometime in the future I owned Cast Easy though.
This was basically a big MyzteryZOT! duplicate, which I figured since he didn’t want to answer questions this time.
July 18th, 2006 at 7:14 pm
Folks, I thought this was quite reasonable. I didn’t have AppZapper, the others were gravy! I liked it.
July 18th, 2006 at 7:35 pm
How long should we expect to wait for the registration codes… I’m not whining – just wondering how long it takes for the backlog to get taken care of.
July 18th, 2006 at 9:32 pm
Glad I swore off MysteryZots.
July 19th, 2006 at 12:53 am
Huh? I have an intel Mac and all 5 of the Mystery Zot programs seemed to started up for me.
July 19th, 2006 at 2:51 am
I think the bundle is exceptional value, $5 for 5 apps is pretty amazing!
PHPStudio looks like it’s going to be very useful and AppZapper looks cool too :-)
July 19th, 2006 at 4:45 am
Meh. You pays your money and you takes your chances. I don’t think I’ll takes my chances again next time around, though.
And how they can call it a Mystery Zot and not figure we’ll know there’s an AppZapper in there… I played this like it was a Mystery Zot 4-oh-and-AppZapper-of-course. A game would’ve been cool. But, yeah, it was a shot in the dark, and $5 isn’t huge. I’ve spent more and gotten less on lottery tickets.

Like many of the others I wish there would be far less duplicates. I already got World of Where and Cast Life (used to be CastEasy, updates to the new version are free) in my first MyzteryZOT and it’s pretty much useless. The other tools are average and I believe that AppZapper in particular has been chewed on enough now.
Keep up the good work but please cut out the old ones. Thanks.
July 20th, 2006 at 10:14 am
Anyone know when the serials are coming? I’m stilling waiting.
July 20th, 2006 at 10:23 am
I’m waiting on serials too.
This is my first MysteryZOT and since I recently switched to Mac, I don’t have any of the apps. Was a great deal, IMO.
September 21st, 2006 at 3:04 am
I don’t think I’ve gotten my serials yet… Am I missing something obvious???
September 21st, 2006 at 3:15 am
oop… never mind… just found them buried in my email!

The simple way to have some facts referring to this good topic is to order custom essay or just buy custom essay papers.

Cast Life (used to be CastEasy, updates to the new version are free) in my first MyzteryZOT and it’s pretty much useless.
