if I buy now will I get a refund for the full price or do I have to wait unitll its free ..
also on the Digg article it says you are giving away 5,000 copies - what happens if there is high demand above 5,000 ?
ZOT said,
June 16, 2006 @ 4:56 am
No refunds.
(err.. wait that is.)
If the demand is above 5,000, the person occupying space 5,001 will wish they had purchased it at a cheap price on the way to $0.00.

I have been watching macZot for a while. This is my first time to register. I love the concept.
After bloggers submit their blog, how do they collect their registration code?

Ok wondering what is wrong with MacZot now.
When I go to enter my blog, email, and title of post I get this (less the quotes)
“Column count doesn’t match value count at row 1″
Hmmm me thinks the server needs to be kickstarted.
ZicklePop said,

Yeah I just tried to type that, and apparently I messed up typing.

HI,
Mac Zot, I have a blog, and I will be participating in this event. However, I have members on my Mac Forum (http://forum.mac-headz.com) site that do not have a blog, but would like to participate also by posting reviews on our forum. If I make a section dedicated to this game, will their posts qualify?
Thanks
PS: This forum was put together from the CollaboZOT game that you hosted not to long ago. So almost all the members are big MacZot fans

As seen on 5ThirtyOne: http://5thirtyone.com/archives/384.
The submittal form is spitting out an error upon link submittal. HoudahSpot is definitely a time saver for large system wide file sweeps. Hopefully everyone that’s interested can get in on this deal.

Seems the blogging has slowed. Any suggestions for how we can get it back up to speed - now that our submission form is actually working?
Also, if you haven’t been on Digg, the link is on http://maczot.com and it’s seeing some nice action.

It may work to update or add an entry to the maczot homepage to get people who use RSS readers to receive a new entry. This may send them back to your site.

I’d like to comment and blog it, but it’s currently showing the spinning beachball. I tried 4 searches - tried to quit - and BOOM! The smart crash report wont even let me submit. I had to ‘kill -9′ it from Terminal. AppZapper worked as designed - thanks MacZot!

Wow, is this the first blogzot that’s not going to end in free software for the masses?
I did my part and blogged away… where are the rest of you?

I think the CollaboZot game turned some people away.
I know what it is like to all of a sudden be slammed with more than what you thought would come your way, therefore I am still supporting MacZot

I’m in.
I think this is great software but very overpriced.
I’ll easily recommend this to friends for $5 or so.
And more MysteryZots!

The submission link isn’t putting up the entries on the BlogZOT list straight away. I’m fairly certain that more people than just me have added an entry in the last 2 hours. Mine isn’t there and it didn’t throw up any errors when I added the submission either.
Thought I’d let you know.
Cheers and beers, Sarah

wow, that really fizzled. They’re now negotiating more time? When you run a contest you have to make sure that your submission form doesn’t go down mid way…. also, this software still feels like a beta to me. I don’t think people are that excited by it.
Conceptually I’m on board, but the interface is rather on the beefy side and more importantly it’s controls are counter intuitive. When you add an modifier (AND, OR, or NOT) it adds it to the top level as opposed to placing it inline. There’s also no ability to rearrange these to make sure your logic is good to go.

I’m a bit p****** off right now. Just registered HoudahSpot before the deadline ran out… and now MacZot is giving it another 24h??? While I think it’s great for those who haven’t purchased yet… THE RULES OF THE GAME NEED TO BE ESTABLISHED IN ADVANCE! Actually, by extending the deadline MacZot has lost any credibility for future actions like these and while I will continue to check out the MacZot I definitely won’t give my support in the future for these off-the-wall blogzots. Stick to the rules! Deadline is deadline.

Regarding gryphonent’s post of:
“THE RULES OF THE GAME NEED TO BE ESTABLISHED IN ADVANCE!”
Not everybody needs or wants more rules to play a “game.”
We don’t subscribe to a rules philosophy. Rather, the play part is what we’re striving for here in the games at MacZOT.com. In our thinking, play in itself creates many more happy people than rules.
We could be wrong, we often are.
