Any chance of getting this discount for the pro version?
While Aquafadas software is ok it is very expensive & the updates are very costly too.

Completely agree with ploth. I have not upgraded my Aquafadas applications because of their expensive upgrades. They had a recent promo (maybe 50%-off, but I can’t remember) and even then I passed.

@Eddie – lol yes I loaded up my cart with 3 pro versions for the 50% off…but I just couldn’t bring myself to be locked into their huge upgrade fees again.

Seriously? The Advanced version is $80 better than the regular version? I looked at the comparison chart and it doesn’t APPEAR to be that much better. I guess you’d have to download them both and see. I bought version 1, then upgraded to 2, but have only really played around with the app. It’s fun and cool, and I think it’s worth $29. I don’t know if it’s worth $49, to me, anyway, and I definitely don’t know about upgrading to the high priced advanced version.
I wish they would quit doing this with the two versions. Seems like more and more apps have two versions now. I don’t like it. We should stage a revolt!

I’m in the same boat as the others. Not willing to pay for the expensive upgrade for a program that I don’t use that often…..

Seriously, in what respect is €19 an expensive upgrade for a competent program like PulpMotion?
I do also find the use of two versions, one “standard” or “lite” and one “advanced” or “pro” to be a very good approach. If I want access to a competent program but I think it’s to expensive it’s a very good idea by the company to offer a cheaper version that lacks some of the more “professional” tools. This is also a very common approach. The most obvious that comes to mind is Adobes Photoshop/Premiere and Elements. Apples iPhoto and Aperture or iMovie and Final Cut and so on.
The problem for me is if I really need all of the features in this very competent program. The things one can do is astonishing. I will have to decide if the slideshow features in Aperture3 is enough for me or not…

Q: “Seriously, in what respect is €19 an expensive upgrade for a competent program like PulpMotion?”
A:
It’s expensive since upgrades represent 51%-79.6% of the price.
It’s expensive because some version upgrades should be minor releases and not major upgrades every year.
Just like ploth, I had 3 items in my shopping cart for the 50% promo. I even reached the point of looking at the games they offered to see if a purchase would be worth it, but for me it wasn’t, and this is considering that the discounts also applied to upgrades!
I like Pulp Motion advanced, but not enough to pay for a yearly upgrade fee.
$29 is not a bad price for this one, BTW. The problem starts with their regular prices and upgrade fees.

Other competing programs do as good or better job – but cost less – the pro version has features that are vital (IMO) and often in other software.
…and the Upgrade Costs for Pro version are too high when they are only small updates.
Look at the cost of Aperture 3 – and the HUGE jump from Aperture 2. This is a program many pro photographers use extensively – and costs way less with continual free updates. Aquafadas gives Apple a bad name.
