How It Works

When a digital camera erases photos it doesn’t actually erase them. Instead, it just forgets where the pictures are located on your memory card. As you take new pictures, the old picture data eventually gets covered over with your new photos.

That’s where CardRaider comes in. By carefully scanning your memory card, it can find and restore pictures that your camera doesn’t see. It seems like magic, but it can save your day.

So now you’re probably thinking about that picture or movie you took. You trashed it using the button on the camera… but it’s really still there. CardRaider will find it. That’s why CardRaider has a bonus feature that allows you to permanently delete an erased photo, overwriting it on the card so that it can never be recovered in the future.

System Requirements:

Any Mac with Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later,
including Mac OS X v10.6 (Snow Leopard)
A memory card reader or digital camera with “PC Mode”.

Will You Need a Memory Card Reader?

Some cameras allow memory card access when connected to your Mac via the USB cable supplied with the camera. With other camera models, such as Canon digital cameras, this is not possible and a memory card reader is required to use CardRaider.

If you don’t know for sure, download the CardRaider Demo and check to see if your camera is recognized.

If you need to get a card reader, check out our card reader suggestions.

I already own this and it’s great. I’ve had to use it on an accidentally-reformatted SD card and it recovered all of my photos. If you take digital photos, then this is a must.

This app is great. My son was one of the photographers of my daughter’s wedding. He was using a Canon with a 4 gig microdrive. The drive belched and all the photos were lost. Cardraider recover almost all of the photos and saved the day. This app has been bulletproof for me. As far as I’m concerned, this app is the best of the category. You won’t find another app that is better than this one. I paid full price on my daughter’s wedding day and would have paid double for an app that worked as well as this one did. THIS APP IS GREAT!

A great life saver. At this price, it’s a no brainer…
