Learn to use Automator, it’s a great tool.

What Tim said was my idea too. From the description here I cannot see anything Renamer does that I cannot do with Automator.
Still, I guess that it is a handy tool for people who don’t use Automator.

Renamer4Mac is much more convenient than Automator. The preview window alone justifies the price.

Thank you for the kind words Joao. Indeed Renamer4mac is intended to make the task of file renaming as easy and convenient for the user as possible.
Yes, renaming can be done with Automator (or even the terminal for that matter), but we do believe that the convenience that Renamer4mac provides and hence the time saved is well worth it.

Very easy to use, but I have to agree with people thinking that Automator is enough for renaming of files or folders. But not everyone wants to learn even easy. For those people I recommend Renamer4mac.

I started using Renamer4Mac when it was free. It is very easy to use and I love it. Yes, I can do batch renames with Automator, but I can’t see the preview of how the new name will look, and I like that feature. I like Renamer4Mac so much that I donated to them for the free version last October.
It is no longer free, and rightly so, in my opinion, but $26? From $0 to $26? Ouch! I think it’s worthy of the Zot price today, but when I first saw that the updated version was $26, I made sure I backed up my free version so I could keep using that. Plus, I didn’t see any feature updates to make me want to cough up the $26, just the updated interface, which is nice.
If I buy the Zot today, do I get credit for the amount I already donated. ;)
