iLocalize is a powerful and intuitive application designed to help developers localize their applications. iLocalize handles multiple languages in the same project, offers custom glossaries, smart filters and has powerful features to help incremental localization.

The glossary inspector provides a powerful way to immediately view suggested translation from one or more glossary at a time. Thanks to the multi-threaded glossary engine, you don’t have to wait for the entire glossary library to be searched before translating or moving to the next string. Glossary can be exported or imported to the TMX standard format.
Smart filters are a convenient way to display immediately only files and strings having particular attributes, such a "to translate". When finding for a particular string, the results will always be available in the filter table for immediate access.
The project window has been designed to efficiently use the screen space: smart filters and languages are immediately available. Moreover, multiple selection is now supported in the file table meaning that multiple files can be edited at the same time.
Edit most files directly in the project window thanks to the integrated editors: strings, txt, rtf, html, plist and many more. Encoding for text, html and strings files can be set on a file-by-file basis.
iLocalize is available as a universal binary, so it uses the native power of your Mac. iLocalize is also ready for Leopard. Get notified automatically of new updates thanks to the built-in update capability.

Does this work also with leopard?

  2. Walker Argendeli Says:

Yeah, it works on leopard. I checked their download page for the system requirements.

Well, this seems like it might hold some promise. I’ll have to check it out and see what I think. Is there anyone with experience using this app?

  3. Henrik Dalgaard Says:

    This is an excellent application!
I have been using it for 2 years to manage the 10 localizations for my apps. It was Leopard ready before Leopard shipped so I could be ready with my apps!
It imports Apple’s AppleGlot glossaries so one can get a good head start localizing the standard parts of an app.

  4. Ferhat Ayaz Says:

Is it possible to create a project compatible with Leopard, Tiger and previous versions “without” installing Xcode 2.5?

This is the message when I try to create a project.

In order to create a project compatible with Leopard, Tiger and previous versions of the system, iLocalize needs the ‘nibtool’ tool.
Check the path in Preferences > Advanced or re-install Xcode 2.5.
