“Thank you for such a wonderful product. I just did a CD project of over nearly 120 CDs with front and back jewel case inserts. DiscLabel was amazing. The feature I appreciated most, besides the new 4.0 layout (WOW!), was that as I tried different media to see which would print the nicest, it was as easy as switching media in the program and DiscLabel did the placement on the page for me. SO NICE!”

I’m looking at printing a sheet of CD cores and the vendor I buy my labels from is listed under the media selection, but the labels I’m using aren’t listed (and I selected update list). Does Disclabel support creating custom label layouts? Otherwise, how do I add a label from my vendor?

I was looking at Discus, does anyone know how they compare?

We’re following up with harringg (see above post) on his specific label request. Here’s more info on how to tell us about new label types and/or to add your own:

There are a number of great features that are only available in DiscLabel. Discus is $45 (plus shipping) — today only DiscLabel is $19.95. :-)

  5. Ken Says:

I’ve used several disc labeling apps (including Discus) and in my opinion DiscLabel is by far the best one out there. This is a steal at $20.

Rock on with the birthday zot!
i just spent about two minutes freaking out, thinking “i didn’t zot today! i was only thinking about zotting today! i wasn’t sure i was going to zot today! what the hell happened?”
i had COMPLETELY forgotten about the birthday zot! now i don’t have to debate buying this. what a cool birthday surprise: software i actually kinda wanted. thanks, maczot. :)

Custom labels seem to be an option. SOMM’s support has responded off list twice today, and the circular text is reason enough to go with DiscLabel, the same text in Disc Cover is skewed and looks distorted, but was smooth in DL.

DiscLabel looks like a winner for me.

  8. Chris Says:

I cant download the trial it just hangs and does nothing anybody else with this problem.

  9. Charles Martin Says:

Good choice, great price, ZOTS AWAY!

  10. Britonius Says:

Thanks Ken and Jean, after your responses and review both product websites. I have decided to purchase DiscLabel, although I would like the ability to print business cards as well. Any plans for adding other labels like business cards to DiscLabel?

  11. kodac Says:

    @ Britonius -

I don’t work for SOMM, but I do own most of their products (actually thanks to MacZOT deals on PDFPen and Browseback, I own every SOMM product except for Pagesender)

Did you mean Business cards as in the CDs that fit Business card specs or actual business cards cause DiscLabel does do business card CDs and several other label types/formats.

  12. harringg Says:

    @ Britonius

I was able to add a custom label with the XML file, but it doesn’t appear as an editable template. So it doesn’t appear to do business cards (rectangle). I’ve got Mail Factory which handles business cards fine, and CD cores, but not easily. DiscLabel handles CD cores (which I need) much better, so I bought it yesterday.
