Recipe management and sharing at its best!
What makes YummySoup! so great?
A seamlessly integrated user contributed Online Library.
Use the publish feature to send your selected recipes to the Online Library.
Browse your recipes with the adjustable full screen view, that gently fades into view. Use your Apple remote to flip through your recipes, or have your directions read to you! Cook with ease, assured that you won’t have to touch your keyboard or mouse since sleep timers are deactivated when using this view.
Adding recipes is a simple with drag and drop! If you drop a selection of ingredients into the ingredients table, they are automatically sorted for you!
Send rich formatted emails with pictures. These emails look exactly like prints. If your recipient also has a copy of YummySoup!, then they can add your creation to their library with the included import file, sent with every email.
The navigational structure of YummySoup! is fantastic. Groups of recipes can have subgroups which makes finding the right meal easy. Browsing any one group, will show you not only the recipes belonging to that group, but all the recipes belonging to any subgroups.
Smart groups are powerful. Whether you want to find all the recipes you can make with a handful of ingredients, or just want to find a Spanish style Main Dish that is not only easy to make, but has a five star rating.
YummySoup! uses a family-pack style license. You are free to use your license file on any computers in your home that belong to you or your family members residing in your household.
.Mac backup and restore.
With Core Data at its heart, YummySoup! is robust and flexible.

Oh no, another recipe manager. (I say “oh no” partly in jest, for I fear the separation of my money from me.) I’ve been looking for one, I just don’t know if I’ve been looking for this one. I’ve Googled and have found a little bit but not a lot since it’s a relatively new app, so…. anybody have a personal YummySoup! vs. MacGourmet vs. Connoisseur experience they’d like to share? Please? Making allowances for the app’s immaturity vs. the more mature MacGourmet and Connoisseur (along the lines of well, it can’t do blah, but it has potential in this area) is perfectly fine.
Off to express-evaluate. =)

you aren’t going to wait for Cookbook from MyDreamApp??? :-)

I can’t comment on YummySoup because I haven’t tried it. I have MacGourmet and love it, but YummySoup looks very comparable to what MacGourmet can do. I tried Connoisseur and didn’t care for it. But hey, at 12 bucks, this looks like a real good deal. If I didn’t already own MacGourmet, I would definitely get this.

@ Jim: Thanks, I appreciate your input!
@ Peter: Cookbook looks awful at the moment and doesn’t yet exist in publicly usable form. I’ll certainly evaluate it when it’s available, but that’s no reason to pass up the opportunity to grab a license for something that is here *now* and support a new developer if the app is worth it.
I have to admit, though, I definitely *was* waiting for someone to bring up Cookbook. =)

So is the “Online Library” a proprietary source that only exists while Hungry Seacow stays around? Is there any way to preview/access this database through a web interface to see if its even worth me downloading the demo?

justG – I was being a bit snarky with that comment. I know it is far away.

Zotted… Though I am not much of a cookbook person this program is really well done. Serious attention to detail and drag and drop ingredients from the web is awesome and simple. The icon is my only gripe… I know it’s cute and funny, but I think it takes away from the overall professionalism of the app. Pretty minor complaint though.
I’m also wondering about the online bit… where is it sources from? Proprietary for this program only or something else? Maybe the developer can chime in?
ps. Please ignore my accidental pun in the first sentence – I am lashing myself right now.

Hello everyone!
I would also like to thank everyone that has purchased YummySoup!
The Online Library is indeed proprietary to YummySoup!. It is populated with recipes that users submit with the Publish button. There are some really great features that will be added to the online library over time. The ability to write reviews, and rate recipes in the Online Library for starters.

Drag and drop sold me. It’s been a while since I’ve bought a ZOT. Great program! The full screen is really cool too.
