Doesn’t iPhoto have these features built-in? I guess if you just wanted to print you stuff this would be good, but not for me :(

  2. dantini Says:

Yes, you can do this in iPhoto AND you can print it, if you know the trick. Here’s the trick: Once you’ve composed your card, calendar or book in iPhoto, right-click or control click INSIDE the composition window, but OUTSIDE the border of the card, calendar or book pages. You will get an option to save as PDF. Do this, open the PDF in preview and print!

Now, if you were GOING to buy this program and decided not to because of this tip, please send me $9.97… :D

You can make things in iPhoto, but these are easier to use, and have format options that aren’t available in iPhoto. These are nicely made apps that do the job really well. There are actually tons of apps that include features that create calendars, cards, etc., but this one is really focused and could save alot of time for someone who makes things like this on a regular basis, like a small business. Besides, I don’t use iPhoto, I use Aperture, so this makes a perfect compliment.

I own licenses to both already, and can say they are handy to have around. For the price, you cannot beat it. I purchased my licenses this past December, and both pulled me out of some pinches as I deal with far too many birthdays in December, plus the extra Christmas card that I do not have to send to the person who sent me one without me having sent them one; these apps made it child’s play for those emergencies. The calendar app I use mostly for family members; the card app for all.

Of course, there is room for both these programs and what you can do in iPhoto. First, making cards this way in iPhoto is kind of a hassle. Second, there are designs in one program that the other lacks (iPhoto’s designs really look nice, but there aren’t that many of them). Third, iPhoto doesn’t offer nearly as many formats, as mentioned above…

But, the iPhoto tip is still definitely worth knowing…. :)

Arrgh – I missed out on these … can I “back order?” If not, full price isn’t really too high …
