Agreed Karsen. There’s easily about a million clipboard managers out there right now. Although the price of Savvy Clipboard is reasonable, iClip still takes the cake.

I found savvy to be a lot less obtrusive than iClip and it provided all the functionality that I needed (clipboard history easily accessible with a quick shortcut key)
A no-brainer for me at $8.

Did anybody ever get the serial for iClip 4? I got one for 3.7 when the app was purchased as part of some bundle deal… but never any serial for iClip 4. And if I remember correctly a free upgrade was promised at the time.

Your 3.7 password should do fine. Mine was ok with v4 beta and official release. And I think I got iClip from the same bundle deal…

I use iClip too. I used to use Shadow Clipboard but never really understood how it worked. Even with iClip its seldom I actually use it. Anyone else feel this way?

Noah, I used 3.7 a lot. For example, for text that I have to enter regularly (e.g., name, address, phone, etc.) or for gathering information from various sources and then pasting everything in a single document.
I can’t believe that after more than a year of waiting for version 4 this is the result. Both the interface and the website are fugly. :(
I even considered today’s Zot based on my disappointment with iClip 4, but ended up creating a couple of clipboards on PTH Pasteboard and I’ll probably stick to that one.

I use PTHPasteboard (free) and it works flawlessly and has all the features I need.

Thanks for sharing… didn’t know that the serial for 3.7 also worked under version 4. I too am very disappointed with iClip 4. I mean, when did we get the free upgrade in the Mega Mystery Zot… May 2006! Gosh. And that’s the result, a small clipping window, overkill in terms of design, and somewhat… impractical. I now own three clipboard apps, at least, and my favorite still is CuteClip. Because it’s fast, unobtrusive, and I can maneuver between clippings by using the keyboard. I reckon I will appzapp iClip 4 soon.

iClip is keyboard-friendly too. Just check the app’s preferences to configure your keyboard shortcuts.

My main reason for me having any kind of clipboard tool is simply for having a history feature. I think alot of people can appreciate such a feature if it’s easy to use. Beyond that I think it gets useful for some but it doesn’t mean it’s going to be used that much. Not everyone needs to have clips stored away to load up later.
With all of that said such tools shouldn’t cost much and as far as the history functionality, I seriously would like to see that in the OS itself and not need a 3rd party tool.
